How to record presentation using


Panopto
For university computer or laptop with Windows
Step 1: Open your slides
Step 2: Open Panopto software
Step 3: The screen will be shown as the following, please choose your video
and audio source.

Step 4: Click Capture PowerPoint


Step 5: Choose start presenting when recording starts

Step 6: Click Record.


Step 7: After recording, Open Panopto software and click STOP.

When Viewing the recording, Press Done and upload.


After you uploaded the video, the software will redirect you to the Webpage of
Panopto.
NB: Click 'Anyone with the link'
Copy and paste link above in your header sheet and upload onto moodle!

For Mac users


Step 1:Open Panopto software and Sign In
Step 2: Click record New
NB: Make sure these are blue ticked

Step 3: Select A primary source


If you DO NOT want to show your face and Only have the built in Microphone
If you DO want to show your face, enable facetime HD camera from video
setting
Step 4: Select Secondary Source. Make sure you have screen capture in
progress (Secondary Source 1)

NB: You don’t have to change anything for secondary source 2, just leave it.

Step 5, Open your PowerPoint slides. (When implementing the PowerPoint,


there is no way to input it through Panopto, therefore you have your PowerPoint
Ready in the background.)
NB: As you have enabled screen capture (built in display) it should be capturing
your PowerPoint.

Step 6: Minimise the Panopto screen and open the PowerPoint slideshow.
Step 7: After recording, Open Panopto software and click STOP.

Step 8: When Viewing the recording, Press Done.


Step 9: Select the video and click Share

After you uploaded the video, the software will redirect you to the Webpage of
Panopto.
NB: Click 'Anyone with the link'
Copy and paste link above in your header sheet and upload onto moodle!
