Section Q
Chapter 7: Resources Management for Inclusion
Inclusion is an educational practice whereby students with special needs are fully integrated into the
general education classrooms at a school. You may have heard the term “mainstreaming”, which is
defined by a special needs child who visits the general class for certain subjects, but is not fully
integrated. That is the main difference between inclusion and mainstreaming.

The resource should be considered for people with disabilities in workplaces, social gatherings,
recreational and in schools that help them to feel comfortable, secure and work at their independent
and team activities. Available resources those meet their needs can help persons with disabilities move
towards success.and also all concerned bodies should be inclusive in their planning, budgeting and
taking action for the education of persons with disabilities.

Provisions of Resources
Resources are very important to create inclusiveness. If resources are provides in inclusive way to
people with disabilities ,that will help them to feel comfortable, secure and work at their independent
and team activities.

2. Reflection (15%)
- What did you observe the socio-environmental situation of your area for people with disability?
- What are the existing opportunities and challenges people with disability?
- Mention any innovate technology which could assist the life of people with disability?
- What should be done for improving the life of people with disability in terms of using technology?
1. I observed that disable peoples are a major lack of awarness in my enviroment.I think this make the
enviroment unfavrable and disabling for impaired groups .There are sterotypical consideration that only
wheelchair users, blinds and deafs are exist in the community even there are so many existing impaired
groups other than these In my area I see there are lots of changes. Including myself, the surrounding
community has lack of much awareness about disability. But there are postive changes including and
interacting with impaired groups. Peoples living in my area are realising that impairment can happen
and it is impaired person. The community has starate to support peoples with disability.
Also there are changes, still there are many challenges. Still now the enviroment is not favourable and
becoming the major source of the disablites. There ate many peoples who insult and discriminate, also
which belive impairement is related to which craft or anger of super natural being (God).
2. Persons with disabilities continue to face barriers that prevent them from enjoying their full civil,
political, economic, social, cultural and developmental rights. This is largely due to lack of awareness,
ignorance and prejudice in our society. It is also because some legislation fails to protect the rights of
persons with disabilities. Mainstreaming and universal access for persons with disabilities are the
ultimate goals of the disability movement. This means the removal of all cultural, physical, social and
other barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from equally accessing opportunities and
participating fully in all aspects of life. Persons with disabilities lack access to employment opportunities
and even if they are able to get employment they face problems such as reasonable accommodation at
work, accessible public transportation to get them to work and back and discrimination and ignorance
about their potential at work.
There are many opportunitis for people with disability. For example;
 Buldings and infrastructures are becoming inclusive.
 Education has been inclusive.
 Policies and legislations are changing in the favoure of of this group
 The society become welcoming to accept these group diversity and. impairment.
 There are affermative actions which given to these groups inorder to compitative in life
There are also many Challenges but some of the challenges are;
 Shortage of access information
 Less access to transport
 Not enough access to health care
 is lack of independece (people with disability are more dependet now days).
 There are psychological, social and economical disadvantages.
 service are still not provided as satisfactory as expected.
 is shortage in innovative technologies.
3. Having disabilities is not an obstacle for students to enter a college. Various organizations work to
help people with disabilities to overcome social, physical, attitudinal or other difficulties and avoid
exclusion from many areas of life. Many employers nowadays offer opportunities for them to earn
decent money. And there are multiple resources, software programs, and technological devices to help
young people with different disabilities to obtain a proper education and subsequent benefits. The
reason is that some barriers, especially communication ones, may prevent people with vision, hearing,
or cognitive impairments to receive the messages and knowledge in a regular learning environment in a
college or university. However, the situation has changed and with the help of multiple applications and
resources, attending the college will not be a problem for these people anymore.
 New technologies are improving the effectiveness of rehabilitation services provided to people
with disabilities
 These technologies include better wheelchair design, tele-rehabilitation (telemedicine applied to
rehabilitation), improved prosthetics, new treatments for bowel and bladder control, and more
accessible transportation systems
 Computer technology applied to electric powered wheelchairs has allowed independent
mobility for people with more severe impairment, such as actor Christopher Reeve
 Technology development in rehabilitation has not been problem free; access to new treatments
and devices is often limited, and electromagnetic interference has occurred between devices
(such as hearing aids and hand held telephones)
 Primary care doctors should become more knowledgeable about disabilities and should be
comfortable making referrals to physical medicine specialists
 Patients with disabilities should be treated with a team approach, including a physical therapist,
anoccupational therapist, a doctor, and often a rehabilitation nurse and counsellor as well.

Dot: is a wearable that is also the world first braile smartwatch. Dot is practical soloution that is more
affordable than regular e-Braile devies which may cost thousand, yet still work well for the blind. Dots

Axs map; For people without disabilities wheel chair ramps and wheel chair accesable restrooms are
nothings they notice. Many public sites are also nit equipped with these facilities. This is a source of
incovenience to those who require a wheelchair to move around. Axs map is a crowd sourced map that
carries information about the wheel chair accessable ramps and restrooms in public places. Such as
restutants hotels shopping halls and more. The map also carries information about how well designed
these facilities with the help of star ratings.
Transcence; The deaf communicate via one via one -,one convesation by using sign language or lip-
reading, but abiuy when a group convesation arises? Transcence offers a great soloution that can still
keep the deaf in a group conversations. In conversation with the use of each participants smart phones
and microphones the app catches what they are saying then coverts into text in real time. Each speakes

4. More than one billion people — or approximately 15 percent of the world’s population — live with
some form of disability and have generally poorer health, lower education achievements, fewer
economic opportunities and higher rates of poverty than people without disabilities, the United Nations
highlighted today on its International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Technologies are tools, systems, applications which makes our live much easier than before.Disability is
more of related to enviroment. Technologies has potential to make favourable enviroments for people
with disability. The question is how we can develop this technlogy which helps with disability.
1. By creating, innovating and updating friendly tools.
2. By broading the awarnessbof the communty
3. By formulating policies wihich help this idea
4. By suporting innovetors who work in these areas
5. By improving economical and social condition of peple with people with disabilities

inorder to buy and use.
