Evidence: Speak your mind

Fuente: SENA

In this evidence, you have to write a composition expressing to what extend you
agree or disagree with the statements below. Make use of the critical thinking
strategies you learned in previous levels.
1. A political system is optimal not because it produces the policies that you
prefer. It produces the policies that much smarter people prefer.

2. The ideal system depends on the cultural attributes of the population.

3. Individuals should be admitted to schools and hired for jobs based on their
ability.

4. Unlike the private sector, the government is motivated by public interest.

5. Taxes allow the government to create jobs and provide welfare programs for
people in need.

6. Governmental programs encourage people to become dependent and lazy

instead of inspiring them to become hard-working and independent.
SOLVED
The history of humanity has taught us that man is a being in constant
evolution, and that through the years we have changed our way of thinking,
each time we learn more, and more, and more.
In terms of politics, there are political ideas that have evolved and others that
have remained the same, for example, if we remember the elections in the
United States, despite the pandemic, the votes were some face-to-face,
others sent by mail, both similarly (the famous electronic card), as well as
digital (electronic mail), however the presidential election method has more
than a century, using the electronic colleges and although the mechanism is
understandable for them, in other countries it is not, let's take the example of
our country Colombia is a country that has a before and after; Before the
1991 constitution and after the 1991 constitution, before there were two
political parties and different movements or political currents, today we have
many political parties.
Now, how have we changed? There are already politicians with more critical
thinking towards the government, there is participation of private companies,
using our resources, in different cities, they are using their own taxes to bet
on the improvements of the cities, but we continue by centralizing what each
city receives, unemployment continues to rise, and government programs for
job creation are too discriminatory.
There are more things that we have not improved, but if we have changed,
we have a mechanism to complain, to defend our rights, so that we can
defend our democracy. Know that even though we have a political
constitution, the decisions made by our politicians chosen by the popular vote
have been successful in some for the people and in others successful for
them.
