The COVID-19 pandemic has changed life as we know it. What does a new Normal life look like? One
thing that is certain that we know that adjusting to change can be challenging. For example, the way
we live, work, and study are very different and change. I have some thoughts and reflections to
relate it.

Lockdown and social distancing are becoming the common word for us during this time of the
pandemic. Lockdown is one of many ways to stop the spread out of the coronavirus, in other words,
this is the way to protect the people. I am reminding that this lockdown is a matter of privilege to
many like us. Social distancing is the one new for us. For now, we have to say goodbye to attending
concerts, sports, festivals, cinemas, etc.., but we hope that they can return soon.

Education and work as we know it has changed. Schools and universities have moved online class,
zoom meetings become our new Normal, many students and the officers are studying and working
from home. The traveling on public transport and gathering in the group at the office are minimized.
But not everything has been negative, as we have seen many of our friends reconnect with family,
spend quality time with their spouses and children, take up new hobbies or resume old ones which
had been forgotten in a busy work schedule, while away the time to recover their energy.

As a religion, we are also adjusting to the new way of celebrating the mass. We cannot go to the
church, as usual, cannot greeting each other during the Mass because The Mass is also celebrating
online. For me, I stay only in my house, and could not go back to Viet Nam. This time is also the time
for us to pray more, and I am inviting to pray more together with the people who are in difficulty. I
am reminded that to be closer to God and others. I am reminding to take care of myself is also one
of many ways to help the government and those trying to find the vaccine against the coronavirus.

As I know, the word "fiesta" will bring a smile to the face of almost any Filipino. After all, the fiesta is
a specials time with friends, a time for fellowship, food, and lots of activities. Each year brings
numerous fiestas. Sometimes people are busy for weeks preparing for them.

Filipinos are known to find ways to celebrate even the smallest things. It Seems that in the numerous
fiestas and festivals that happen almost every day around the country, which showcase elaborate
garbs, beautiful parades, and the radiant smiles Filipinos are known for.
