(2016). What is sustainable fashion? Journal of Fashion
Marketing and Management: An International Journal, 20(4),
400-416.

Aim:1. Explore how the concept of sustainable fashion relates

to social constructivism.2. Explore the basic principles of
sustainable fashion (from the perspective of
microorganizations, consumers and experts)

Limitation:The sample has been specially selected and is not

representative of the general public.

Discussion:In this article, two problems have been found.

One is the lack of transparency in the supply chain of
sustainable fashion garment production. In order to maintain
competitiveness, manufacturers often reduce the price of
their products, which leads to the non-sustainable use of their
products. Second, the knowledge and awareness of
sustainable fashion are not universal among consumers
(Goworek et al.,2013). The author gives corresponding
solutions. One is to choose environmentally friendly and
cheap raw materials as substitutes. Second, retailers should
disclose their raw material selection and production details,
so as to make consumers more aware of sustainable fashion
and enhance the trust of consumers and retailers.

Result: The concept of sustainable fashion is not uniform and

different people have different understandings.

Life cycle assessment of clothing libraries: Can collaborative
consumption reduce the environmental impact of fast
fashion? Journal of Cleaner Production, 162, 1368-1375.

Aim: Explore the benefit of clothing library to improve the

environment.

Methodology: life cycle assessment (LCA)

Limitation: The data are from Sweden only and the results
are not universal.

Discussion: In this study, it is found that the fast fashion

clothing pattern will lead to a decrease in the service life of
clothes. At the same time, the high-load transportation
systems that come with fast fashion will create more carbon
footprints and accelerate global warming. In order to change
this situation, the sharing economy model of clothing library
can better change the usage pattern and life span of clothing
and promote the coordinated development of fashion and
environment. In addition, clothing libraries can be set up near
customers or public places to reduce unnecessary
transportation.

Result: Improving the use patterns and longevity of clothing

will have positive environmental benefits

A Study of a Social Content Model for Sustainable
Development in the Fast Fashion Industry. Journal of Global
Fashion Marketing, 3(2), 61-70.

Aim: How marketers can guide consumers toward

sustainable fashion consumption.

Methodology: Multi-method participatory action research

(PAR) investigation

Limitation: The number of samples is small, the collection

range is narrow, and the conclusion is not universal.

Discussion: This article mainly studies two problems: one is

environmental problems. The development of fast fashion is
accompanied by the waste of resources and the production of
harmful substances. Second, consumer behavior. Due to the
low cost of shopping, a large number of consumers blindly
imitate and buy a large number of non-reusable clothes. The
main solutions to these problems are to use recyclable
materials and to set up recycling stations. At the same time,
marketers should develop marketing strategies to encourage
people to buy sustainable fashion products and to protect the
environment. (Hong, Lee, & Chu, 2010).

Result: Marketers can use their marketing power to get

consumers to accept sustainable fashion consumption.
