Partner Academy - Introduction
What is the SUSE SLE201v15 Partner Academy?
 A no-cost alternative to classroom training on the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 Administration
course (Course SLE201v15)
 A flexible 7-week learning period versus 4 days of classroom training
 A mix of self-directed learning each week plus a weekly 1-hour webinar with our instructor to review
your understanding of each weekly assignment in SLE201v15 Partner Academy.
 Prescribed weekly assignments requiring 5-10 hours of self-study each week, depending on your
prior Linux and/or UNIX knowledge.
 Assignment “bundles” made of course reading and lab assignments accessed online in the Academy
section of the SUSE Partner Portal.
 An opportunity to earn the SUSE Certified Administrator 15 (SCA) certification at no cost after the
Academy ends if you meet the requirements.

What is required?
 A login account to the SUSE Partner Portal (https://partner.suse.com/)
 Availability to study in January, February and March 2019.
 A work/personal schedule that allows you 5-10 hours per week to self-study the course assignments
plus 1 hour per week to attend a webinar review of the weekly assignment.
 A laptop/computer with a Broadband Internet connection for connecting to the On-Demand course
and launching the live labs in the system and for connecting to the weekly Go To Webinar sessions.
(Mobile devices can be used to connect to the webinars as well.)
 We strongly recommend to use Chrome as your Internet browser for a smooth training
experience.
 Whitelisted domains in your email client so you receive critical Academy-related information:
o suse.com
o gotowebinar.com
o innovativexams.com / examslocal.com

 For participants wishing to qualify for SUSE certification exam benefit: Pass all online quizzes found
in the January 2019 SLE201v15 Partner Academy course sections. All quizzes must be completed
and an average passing score of 80% achieved before access to the Academy course expires 2
weeks after Academy end date. The certification exam should be booked and taken within the eCredit
expiration date (3 months after Academy closure).

How does the Academy work?
Once registration opens, you will:
 Register for the Partner Academy course through the SUSE Partner Portal. Once inside the Portal,
select Enablement/Technical training/SUSE Enterprise Linux/Partner Academy. Click January 2019
SLE201v15 Partner Academy, click Launch Training. The registration button can be found at the
bottom of the document.
 Register for the webinar series you wish to attend (registration links can be found inside the Academy
course)

During the prep week (Week 0) of the Academy, you will:

 Attend the Kickoff webinar (No activity is required until after attending the Kickoff webinar)
 After the Kickoff webinar, review Week 1 content

For the remaining 6 weeks of the Academy, you will:

 Attend a weekly 1-hour webinar in which the instructor reviews the week’s assignment.
 Complete the quiz of last week’s assignment
 Review “next week’s” content

After the Academy end date, you will:

 Make sure you have completed all section quizzes with an average passing score of 80% within 2
weeks of the Academy End Date.
 Complete a participant survey
 If qualified, receive an email notification that you have been issued an SCA for Enterprise Linux 15
exam eCredit after quiz completion period
 Take the SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) for Enterprise Linux 15 exam before eCredit expiration
date

What do I do now?
 If you meet the requirements, register through the Registration button at the bottom of this document.
Registration will remain open for 2 weeks or until the Academy is full and all seats are taken,
whichever comes first. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.

What will be next?

 Review the Schedule and determine if any of the Partner Academy’s webinars work for your schedule
and time zone.
 Refer to the schedule below to identify the days and starts times of the Academy’s webinars.
 If necessary, use a tool like www.worldtimebuddy.com to determine a webinar’s start time in your
local time compared to the start times shown on the schedule.
 Whitelist SLE201Academy@suse.com in your email client to receive important SUSE SLE201
Academy communications.
