For this memorial to create

use of real letters written by
people who lived in
totalitarian states, literally
bringing them to light - for
those passersby who stop to
notice.
We sent out a simple
worldwide appeal, explaining
the design intent; within

almost 40000 letters.

As we can see the existing building its
not in a good state. We have water infiltration
on most of the facade as well in the attic.
Because of that, the exterior plaster fell
down. The house is in the close proximity of
the monument because of that the legislation
says we should not construct in a 5-meter
radius of the house.Because of this fact the
only possible insertion its where we intervened
with the volume.
The construction is mainly made of brick except
the annex on the left side, a more early addition
made from concrete .In our proposal, we modify
the volume to make it more dynamic also we
bring the style off the monument in this house by
adding the pillars to sustain the roof.
The roof will be changed because of the state
of degradation he is in. The maxim hight that was
specified on the urban contract is around 8 meter
because of the monument and the proximity to it
so the tip of the roof reaches 7 meters.
