Lesson type: mixed
Objectives: by the end of the lesson the students will have been able to:
 talk about crimes and how serious they are;
 understand new stories about crimes and an article about unusual laws;
 report what people have said and ask for information politely.
Methods: explanation, dialogue, conversation.
Teaching aids: whiteboard, marker, textbook, notebook, computer, overhead projector, digital book.
Students’ book: Limba modernă engleză 1-studiu intensiv, clasa a VIII-a, editura Art Klett
Duration: 50 minutes

Harris from Tennessee. After watching the
video T asks Ss: What crimes do you think he
committed?, Do you think the police caught
him?, If so, what was his punishment?

T asks Ss to read the three stories from the
textbook (page 96), to match them with the
photos and to identify what is surprising about
all three photos. Then Ss choose the correct
options from ex 3/ 96.
T asks Ss to match the highlighted words from
the text with their definitions.

Further Practice Ss look at the sentences in ex 1/97 and search Integrated Notebook T-Ss Attitude, 11 min
practice and them in the text in the reported speech. T gives skills Whiteboard Ss-T effort
consolidation guidance if necessary. Ss write the sentences in Handouts S-Ss

examples of reported speech and complete the

verb changes that occur in the reported speech.

she asks Ss to change the sentences from the
handout in the reported speech.
T checks their answers.
