MISSION THRIFT STORE OSHAWA’S DEBUT VIRTUAL CONCERT, MUSIC FOR

MISSIONS, APPROACHES QUICKLY

OSHAWA, Ont. — The Mission Thrift Store (MTS) in Oshawa is hosting Music for Missions, a
debut virtual concert to raise awareness for the store and funds for its partner Bible League
Canada. The concert will be livestreamed to the store’s YouTube channel and Facebook page on
Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 7 p.m. The show will feature a wide variety of musicians from the
Durham Region and Greater Toronto Area, accompanied by information segments on MTS and
Bible League Canada.

“Not only are we hoping that this concert will let more people know about the store’s presence in
Oshawa and its purpose, but that people can use it to take a break from the stress that the pandemic
brings,” says Chris Woodcock, manager of the Oshawa store.

Non-profit organizations and the people that benefit from them have been majorly affected by the
COVID-19 pandemic. MTS Oshawa strives to provide resources and collaborate with local
organizations like the Simcoe Hall Food Bank, The Refuge, Gate 3:16 Outreach Centre and more
to support those in need during this troublesome time. It also recently launched its online shopping
platform to continue bringing in funds. With the lockdown level recently lifted to Red Zone for
Durham Region, MTS’s doors are open for in-store shopping once again.

Tim Rose is a singer-songwriter from Oshawa that released his first EP, Utter Disappointment, on
Spotify in May 2020. Tim will be performing an unreleased song of his for the Music for Missions
concert. Joining the lineup of performers is Lee Anne King Matchett, a professional vocalist and
alumna from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. A music graduate from the University of
Toronto, Tim Watson specializes in trumpet, plays guitar and sings. Jamie Dimitui is a
singer/pianist singing regularly at FaithWay Baptist Church and posts covers to her YouTube
channel, jemima. These and many more musicians promise Music for Missions to be a talented
show for a great cause.

Livestream access is free to the public, and an online donation box will be available during and
after the concert. Watch the concert on YouTube or Facebook:
