Rev - Ankur Sc. - Gasification of Biomass & Waste To Energy & Biofuels
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified. All equipment is
CE certified.
2
What is Biomass / Waste Gasification?
Gasification is conversion of
various biomasses / wastes to a
combustible (something that
can be burnt) gas called
Producer Gas.
4
Various feedstocks can be used
7
Emission Norms –
Ankur Sc. systems meet norms across the world
Air Emissions
• Particulates can be as low as 10 ppm.
• No Dioxin and Furan creation in the process.
• NOx and SOx within control.
Solid Emissions
• Only ash and char generated.
• Non Toxic in nature.
Liquid Emissions
• Condensates generated - thermally oxidized as per local emissions.

Syngas to Fuels/ Chemicals
• Areas identified:
• Syngas to Ethanol.
• Syngas to H2.
• Syngas to Methanol.
26
Syngas to Ethanol – Current Status
• Ethanol blending policies present in more than 64 countries worldwide.
Thus market exists.
• India at E10 now and wants go to E20. She cannot meet E10 norms due
to lack of Ethanol. Indian market alone > 3 billion litres of Ethanol per
annum.
• Working with the world’s leading company on Syngas Fermentation.
• A pilot has been set up at our factory and Trials successfully done to test
the following feeds with their bacteria:
• Wood, MSW, Rice Straw, EFB, Corn cobs.
• Will test waste Tyres and some more feeds in the near future
• Macro costing for a 46 & 60 klpd wood / corn cobs / cotton stalks /
rice straw based plant done. The technology with our engineering
and EPC can be a commercial game changer.
• Now moving to build a pilot, commercial plant.

Syngas to Ethanol – Some potential in India
• 10% blending by 2022 means demand for 450 crore (4.5 bil) litres against
estimated production of about 300 crore (3.0 bil) litres
• There are more than 10 crore (100 mil) tons/annum of biomass availability
which could result in Ethanol generation of more than 2000 crore (20 bil)
litres/annum
• Farmers in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan & UP grow rice on 10.5 million
hectares producing about 4.8 crore (48 mil) tons of straw/annum of which
about 3.9 crore (39 mil) tons is burnt leading to severe pollution issues.
This is a potential of another 600 crore (6 bil) litres/annum of Ethanol
• Presently, India collects close to 100,000 tons/day of waste (this is
conservative and increasing every day)
• Even considering 50% of these to be used in our Gasifiers i.e. 50,000
tons/day of waste could lead to 90 crore (900 mil) litres/annum of Ethanol

Syngas to Methanol – Current Status
• Work will be started after the H2 pilot is built as the Water Gas Shift is
needed for both processes.
