Statement of Purpose

Since early childhood, I developed a strong inclination towards computers. I grew

captivated by the world of computers and technology as I learned a variety of
programming languages, from basic HTML to the more advanced Java and data analytics.

Due to my keen interest in computers, I had my entire career path set towards it and
participated in various symposiums during my university days and presented the
following papers:
 Presented research paper on ‘Behavioral Analysis from Facial Expression
Recognition’ held at Satyabhama University - A national level International
Society of Automation (ISA) Student meet & won 1st prize in the year 2011.
 I further extended my research work for detecting and analysing behaviour of a
sports person and submitted paper on ‘Cognitive Analysis of Facial Expression
Recognition from Sports Video’ along with research scholar in S. Muthu
Lakshmi, Anna University to British Journal of Educational Technology.
 Had opportunity to work for research scholar S. Muthu Lakshmi, Anna University
for her research in ‘Design and Development of Behavioral Based System’ year
2011.
 Presented paper on 'Rainfall Prediction Using Artificial Neural Networks' at
Concotix 09 - A national level technical symposium conducted by Satyabhama
University in association with instruments society of India - 2009 & won 2nd
prize.
 Had opportunity to work for Asst. Prof. B. Sowmya, Satyabhama University
(current role: Dr. Sowmya, Head or Principal, Alpha College of Engineering,
India) for her PhD research in ‘Image Processing for Detection & Removal of
Cracks’ year 2009.

Academically, I got CGPA of 9.11/10 for my master’s in computer applications and

emerged as a university topper – second rank holder from highly reputed institution,
College of Engineering, Anna university, India. My undergraduate and master’s degree
in computer science has given me a comprehensive exposure to courses like Database
Management Systems, Advance Database Technology, Data Warehousing and Data
Mining.
Apart from the technical acumen I have gathered over the academic years, I have learned
equally valuable lessons outside the classroom, participating in various extracurricular
activities. Presentations, seminars and organizing/hosting events gave me a platform
to interact with people from varied backgrounds. I was also appointed as student
representative continuously for three semesters and hosted or emceed various inter-
college events.

As a technology and data enthusiast with 7+ years of consulting experience in

Business, Finance and Technology, I have been constantly recognised through corporate
rewards.

As a mix of software engineer, cloud-based ERP consultant and business analyst, I

was able to gain knowledge not only over technology but also over data management,
data analytics and data security.
I am hoping to integrate my professional and academic experiences through this
master’s degree in Information Systems. I believe this course is tailor-made to my
interests and will help me become a distinguished Systems Analyst. Also, during my
leisure visit to New Jersey 2014 and 2019, I found NJIT campus life to be a very
stimulating and enriching environment and it would be a great experience to be a part
of such a lively community.

I am looking forward to the opportunity of being able to study Master of Science in

Information Systems at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
