Different kinds of Pipes used in Plumbing:

1. PVC Blue pipe for water line, cold water piping, Potable Water.

2. PVC Orange for sewer line.

3. Series 600
4. Series 1000 (underground)

5. PE Pipes. Polyethylene (PE) is a thermoplastic material produced from the

polymerization of ethylene. PE plastic pipe is manufactured by extrusion in sizes
ranging from ½" to 63". PE is available in rolled coils of various lengths or in
straight lengths up to 40 feet.
6. G.I. Pipes. The Galvanized Iron Pipes are generally used for distribution of
treated or raw water in rural or urban areas. These pipes are cheaper, light
weight and easy to handle.

7. Schedule 20 and Schedule 40

Pipe Schedule is the term used to describe the thickness of a pipe. The outside
diameter of a pipe is the same for all schedules in a particular nominal pipe
diameter.
8. PPR Pipes are made of Polypropylene Random Copolymer (Polypropylene
Random Copolymer type 3). The raw material of PPR pipe is Polypropylene
Random Copolymer (PPR-C).
