PRESIDENT ABRAHAM LINCOLN

Could you imagine how will be U.S. if Abraham Lincoln never was a president? One of

the best leaders of the United States. There was awareness in the people about the slavery and the

promise made by the fathers of the country that it was not yet done: All men are created with

unalienable rights. This promise was not done to the black people that were born in The United

States. Abraham Lincoln started to put in order this statement after one hundred years that was

made it. The 16th president was a great leader, a good Speaker and a diplomatic person.

Abraham Lincoln was an outstanding leader whom demonstrated capacity to listen different

points of view, the ability to learn on the job, a ready willingness to share credit for succes or

blame for failure. He created a climate where Cabinet members were free to disagree without

fear of retaliation. At the same time, he knew when to stop the discussion and after listening

many opinions, make the final decisión (L.Moreton, 2008, p.3), in the same way Lincoln was

able to acknowledge errors, learn from them, and then move. In this way, He established a

culture of learning in his administration(L.Moreton, 2008, p.4), in addition when mistakes were

made by members of his Cabinet, Lincoln stood up for them, When contracts related to the war

effort raised serious questions about a member of his administration. Lincoln spoke up and

indicated that he and his entire Cabinet were to blame (L.Moreton, 2008, p.5), for all these

reason made Abraham Lincoln was a Great leader.

Abaham Lincoln was a good speaker because He was very tall and thin figure, with an

intelectual face, showing a searching mind, and cool judgment. Thus, He was logic because His

manner is neither fanciful nor rhetorical, buy logical. His thoughts are strong thoughts, and

strongly joined together. He was a close reasoner, and had the faculty of making himself clearly

understood. likewise His speeches was full of fire, energy and force. Finally, his voice mixed

with talk in addition his eyes flashed, every facial movement helped express his idea and

feeling.. Lincoln possesed the ability to catch the attention of the people with the clearest,

logical, power and voice qualility of a good speaker.

Lincoln, was married with Mary Todd. Though her position fulfilled her high social ambitions,

Mrs. Lincoln’s years in the White House mingled misery with triumph. An orgy of spending

stirred resentful comment. While the Civil War dragged on, Southerners scorned her as a traitor

to her birth, and citizens loyal to the Union suspected her of treason. When she entertained,

critics accused her of unpatriotic extravagance. When, utterly distraught, she curtailed her

entertaining after her son Willie’s death in 1862, they accused her of shirking her social duties.

Yet Lincoln, watching her put her guests at ease during a White House reception, could say

happily: “My wife is as handsome as when she was a girl, and I fell in love with her; and what is

more, I have never fallen out.” (White House Mary Todd, par. 6). The diplomacy of Lincoln was

outstanding even with her wife.

In conclusión Abraham Lincoln showed that, He was an outstanding leader thus speaker and

diplomatic person. Finally He showed the worth of his word in his actions and legacy. One of the

finest persons who managed the nation in the U.S history. He is the reason of why so many

people are studying and He shows how to be a leader, speaker and diplomatic finally It so useful
