Angles in rhombus
 The diagram shows a rhombus ABCD where diagonals AC and BD intersect at E.
The diagonal BD is produced to F such that AD = DF. If AE = 68°,

i

CD
  = AD (diagonal BD of rhombus bisects AC)
= 68°

  BD + AD + CD = 180° (int. ∠s, AB // DC)

  BD + 68° + 68° = 180°

  BD = 180° – 68° – 68°

= 44°

ii

  = 68° (base ∠s of isos. ∆ABD; or alt. ∠s, AD // BC)

AB

  DF + AD = 68° (ext. ∠ of ∆ADF)

  DF = AD = (base ∠s of isos. ∆ADF)

= 34°

iii

 AF = 90° (diagonals of rhombus bisect each other at right angles)

  + AF + AE = 180° (∠ sum of ∆AEF)
EF

  EF + 90° + 34° = 180°

  EF = 180° – 90° – 34°
= 56°
