Double Roll Crusher

Application
Roll crushers are still used in some mills as they have been replaced in most installations by cone
crushers. They have still useful application in handling friable, sticky, frozen and less abrasive
feeds such as limestone, coal, chalk, gypsum, phosphate and soft Iron ores. Jaw and gyratory
crushers tend to choke near the discharge when crushing friable rock with a large proportion of
maximum size pieces in the feed.

Features
It is provided with two roll each 6 inches in diameter. It is run by 3 HP motor. The distance
between the rolls is adjustable.
Feed Size: 0.5 inches (13mm)
Product Size: 2mm
Max. Feed Capacity: 1361 kg/hr

Operation
The standard spring roll consisting of two horizontal cylinders revolve towards each other. The
set is determined by the shims, which cause the spring-loaded roll to be held back from the
solidly mounted roll. The material enters the space between rolls through hopper. The material is
nipped between the spring-loaded and solidly mounted roll. The material is fragmented due to
abrasion, attrition, and impact. So as the ore falls down it enters into reduced cross-sectional
area until it is discharged from the outlet.
