Course Details
A Introduction
Principle of Accounting is designed to familiarize and develop in the students a thorough
understanding of the accounting concepts, principles and procedures involved in the analysis and
recording of business transactions and the preparation of financial statements for service and
trading concerns. Accounting concepts and techniques underlying income determination and
valuation of current and long-term assets, together with their related internal control measures and
their presentation in the financial statements are emphasized.
B Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

1. Summarize the development of accounting principles and relate them to practice.


2. Explain the role of accounting in business & how business transactions can be stated
in terms of the resulting changes in the basic elements of the accounting equation.
3. Explain why accounts are used to record and summarize the effects of transactions on
financial statements.
4. Prepare a trial balance and explain how it can be used to discover errors.
5. Summarize the adjustment process and prepare an adjusted trial balance.
6. Review the seven basic steps of the accounting cycle & Prepare financial statements from
a work sheet.

All students of BBA III can attend the course. The course has no pre requisite as it is
basic course.
