HISTORY OF FIRM
A glorious past inspired us to be at your side all-time

The founder, Mr. Khundkar Mahmudul Hasan FCA established this firm immediately after being
qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Mr. Hasan did his articleship with Mr. Rezaur Rahman FCA,
Founder Partner of Rahman Rahman Huq. Initially it was a proprietorship firm belonging to Mr.
Hasan, then it was transformed to a partnership firm in 1994 and at present the firm has seven
partners. Six of the partners are Fellow Member of ICAB and one is Associate Member. The
partners are supported by adequate number of trained and experienced professionals including
ACA, FCA, ACCAs, FCMA, MBAs, Lawyers and also multi-disciplinary industry focused professionals
to cater to the Clients’ needs.

K. M. Hasan & Co. (KMHCO) was established and registered with ICAB in 1984 as a firm of
Chartered Accountants. It is now an Independent Member Firm of McMillan Woods International, a
UK based firm of public accountants. It is also pertinent to mention that it holds 7th
position as per Bangladesh Bank ranking for auditing of Banks and Financial
Institutions as published on 19th March 2017.

Mr. K. M. Hasan was trained as an articled student in Rahman

Rahman Huq, Member Firm of KPMG in early seventies. In 1975
he joined S. F. Ahmed & Co., Chartered Accountants, the then
affiliated firm of Ernest & Young International, continued there
for a pretty long time till he qualified as a Chartered Accountant
in the year 1983 and enrolled as a fellow member of The Institute
of Chartered Accountants Bangladesh in 1989. Since registration
K. M. Hasan FCA with the ICAB on 01-01-1984, he has been acting as Managing
Managing Partner Partner of KMHCO and supervising the Audit/Tax/Corporate
Assignments for more than 30 years.

During his long professional career Mr. Hasan established himself

as an expert in taxation and is now recognized as a reputed and
well known tax consultant in Bangladesh. Mr. Hasan is privileged
to have taken part in many high profile training courses and
numerous seminars. He also regularly contributes papers on tax
related issues to newspapers and National Board of Revenue for
upgrading sound tax policy in the country. He has his credit
publication of books on taxation. The noticeable clients served by
him include autonomous bodies like BPDB, DESA, REB,
Petrobangla, BDBL, RAJUK etc. and a good number of giant
private organizations in banking and non-banking financial
institutions and industrial enterprises as well.

Mr. Ali Mohammad Chowdhury was trained as an articled student

in Ata Khan & Co. in early sixties. He qualified as a Chartered
Accountant in the year 1982 and as a fellow member of The
Institute of Chartered Accountants Bangladesh in 1987. At
present he is acting as Senior Partner of K. M. Hasan & Co. From
1989 to 1993 he had worked as Proprietor of Ali Muhammad
Chowdhury & Co., Chartered Accountants.
Ali Mohammad
Chowdhury, FCA Before joining KMHCO as a partner, he had a long, professional
Senior Partner career both at a national and international level. In addition, his
past employers include Shahjalal University of Science and
Technology, DESA, KAFCO and two CA Firms and thus he has
gathered experience in the capacity of both a Public Accountant
and a salaried officer of a number of reputed organizations.

 Mr. Hedayet Ullah was trained as an articled student in Howlader
Yunus & Co. in early seventies. He qualified as a Chartered
Accountant in the year 1980 and as a fellow member of The
Institute of Chartered Accountants Bangladesh in 1986 and at
present he is acting as Senior Partner of K. M. Hasan & Co. He had
a long, professional career both at national and international level
before joining KMHCO as a partner.
Hedayet Ullah FCA Prior to admission as Senior Partner, he had served the
Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation for 26 years without

interruption in various senior positions, such as, Chief Auditor at
Head Office, Managing Director for three public limited
companies, General Manager of four big enterprises and
Additional/Dy. Chief Accountant for two major industries. Prior to
the above engagements, he worked for two years as a senior
professional with S.F. Ahmed & Co. In addition to audit
assignments he was engaged in a number of consultancy services
including two major nationalized banks and direct supervision of
Internal Audit and conducting classroom training.

Mr. Amirul Islam holds an Honors and Master of Management

from University of Dhaka. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant
in May 1981. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Bangladesh as well as the Institute of Chartered
Secretaries of Bangladesh.
He started his service career with Bangladesh Shilpa Rin Sangstha
Md. Amirul Islam FCS, (BSRS) in July 1983 as a mid level Finance Executive. He was
FCA promoted as General Manager in 1999. He also discharged his
Senior Partner responsibilities as the Managing Director (current charge) of
BSRS several times. He joined as General Manager with
Bangladesh Development Bank Ltd. (BDBL) in December 2009
and retired in March 2011 and joined with BDBL as Senior
Consultant and General Manager on contract for a period of two
years. He is experienced in capital market, particularly in
management of institutional investment portfolio, mutual fund,
brokerage houses etc.

He is presently discharging his responsibilities as Independent

Director of NCC Bank Ltd., the Dacca Dyeing & Manufacturing Co.
Ltd. and Hakkani Pulp and Paper Mills Ltd. He was Chairman of
Dhaka Regional Committee of The Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Bangladesh and presently a Member of
Investigation & Disciplinary Committee of the Institute. Mr. Islam
is also a Senior Faculty Member of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Bangladesh as a resource person of Business law,
Company law and other Corporate laws.

 Mr. Aminur Rahman Chowdhury FCA qualified as a Chartered
Accountant in the year 1979 and enrolled as a fellow member of
The Institute of Chartered Accountants Bangladesh in 1986.

During his long professional career Mr. Rahman established himself

as an expert in Managemet Consultancy in Bangladesh. Mr.
Rahman is privileged to have taken part in many high-profile
training courses and numerous seminars. He has been working as

Md. Farhad Husain Suman completed his BBA and MBA from the
Department of Accounting and Information Systems, University of
Rajshahi. Before joining K.M. Hasan & Co. he served some
Md. Farhad Husain companies namely Lantabur Group, NR Group, SEAF Ventures
Suman FCA Management LLC dealing in textile, knit garments, investment,
Partner banking and non-banking financing. He is an expert in taxation,

 Md. Shahidul Islam is an associate member of the Institute of

and Information Systems, University of Dhaka. He has expertise in

Cost and Management Accountant qualified from the Institute of Cost
and Management Accountants of London. He is now a Senior Fellow
Member of ICMAB. He attended a three months training courses on
Business Administration in Germany and also a number of seminars
and symposiums in Bangladesh. He started his professional career as
an Accountant in erstwhile EPWAPDA and thereafter served and have

Support Unit (PSU), Secondary Towns Infrastructure Development
Project (STIDP), under the Local Government Engineering
Department, Ministry of LGRDG, Dhaka, Financed by ADB from 1994-

University. He started his career in 1961 as a Probationer
Accountant of erstwhile EPWAPDA, got extensive training on

Service Rules/Regulations etc for long two years and qualified as
a regular Accountant after passing the required examination
(equivalent to SAS examination of GoB Audit Dept.). He received
foreign training on Project Planning in Bradford University, UK;
Md. Mozaffar Hossain Rural Electrification Orientation in National Electrification
MA, B Ed. Consultant Administration (NEA) in Manila, The Philippines and Higher
Management in National Rural Electric Co-operatives Association
(NRECA) in Washington DC, USA respectively; and country
training on Budgetary System and Analysis, Management, Project
Planning and Procurement. During his service career, he held the
positions of Asstt. Director (Finance), Dy. Director (Finance) and
Director (Finance) in-charge in EPWAPDA/BPDB and joined
Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) in 1978 as Director
(Finance). In BREB he worked in various departments like
Finance, Programme, Audit, Procurement etc.

and was promoted to the post of Controller (Accounts and Finance)

in 1990 and he finally retired from that position in 1995. After
retirement from BREB, he joined K. M. Hasan & Co. as a regular
Consultant and dealing with, among others, business promotion
and power/energy sector assignments of the firm.

 Mr. Bishnu Pada Saha completed his Master in Business
Administration in Finance from State University of Bangladesh in
2007 and B. Sc. (Hons), M. Sc. in Chemistry in 1979 from
Jahangirnagar University. He started his career in 1985 as a Team
Leader of vigilance team of DBI in Bangladesh Bank. During next
32 years (1985-2017) he holds different important position (Joint
Director, Deputy General Manager, General Manager, Executive Director
& Head) of Bangladesh Bank. His 32 years of work experience
concentrated in diverse financial institutions’ inspection and
supervision, implementation of FSRP with a proven track record
