Dramatic Play Assignment
Age Group: Kindergarten

Setting: Pizza Parlor


Setting: An area for making the pizza, an area for cooking the pizzas, an area to sit and
order/eat the pizza, an area for paying for the pizza.
 Walls: posters on the wall of pizza or pizza parlor signs all around the dramatic play area.
 At the desk area where the customers pay there will be a sign on the outside saying “Pizza Parlor” as
well as a menu so that the customers can take a look at what is available.
 Tables: red checkered table clothes on the tables with plates in front of each chair and a menu on each
plate.
 Seasoning shelf: There will be a shelf behind the tables with different labeled seasonings so that the
children can go and pick which ones they want.
 Kitchen area: In the “kitchen” area there will be a table with shelving for the pizza maker. On the
shelves will be the baking tools needed as well as ingredients. The brick oven will be by the table and be
decorated to look like a brick oven.
 Costumes and name tags: Costumes will be hanging up right as you walk into the dramatic play area.
 Pizza delivery: A delivery car will be outside the Pizza Parlor that could be made from a cardboard box.
 Check in desk: There will be a check in desk in the front of the pizza parlor for children to come to. This
is where they wait to be seated.

Scripts
Script 1: Showing up at the pizzeria
1. Check in at the front desk
2. Wait to be seated
3. Once seated look at the menu
4. Order a pizza from the waiter/waitress
5. Once pizza is made sit and enjoy the food and company
6. If leftover pizza, have it boxed up to take home
7. Pay for pizza and leave

Script 2: Pizza chef


1. Gets order from costumer
2. Selects the toppings for the pizza
3. Creates and bakes the pizza in the brick oven
4. Once pizza is done rings bell for waiter/waitress to take the pizza
