PROJECTS

Deaf Mental Health Practicum​— Jan 2021 - March 2021


Practicum included becoming a teacher’s aid for the Mental Health in the Deaf
Community class at WOU, reading 3 different textbooks pertaining to Mental
health for d/Deaf patients, completing 90 hours of work pertaining to the
practicum, and writing an analysis of what was learned/gained.

Seabeck Academic Service Learning Project ​— March 2020 - In progress


Project included learning about DeafBlind culture and the foundations of
protactile language. Learning about distantism, autonomy, and working with the
DeafBlind community. The class prepared students to work with DeafBlind folks
at the annual Seabeck retreat, but unfortunately the Seabeck trip itself was
postponed due to Covid-19.
