After checking quotations and service back-up in Qatar, we

M decided to purchase our batching plants from the Imer Group
I in Italy. We have now taken delivery of two, LOGIK WL 4/80
X fully computerized twin-shaft 3.35 cubic meter batching
plants, each rated at 120 cubic meters per hour capacity. The
C two plants therefore have a combined capacity rating of 240

cubic meters of concrete per hour, with 2400 tones of cement
N
C storage and two further silos of 100 tone capacity each for
R either micro-silica or fly-ash depending on which
E specifications to be complied with. Each truck-load of concrete
T departs with an automatic computer generated delivery ticket,
E that confirms all details, including individual mix constituents,
moisture content, water - cement ratio, slump, time of batching

O etc... our two batching plants can also produce temperature
M controlled concrete during the hot Summer months. We have
P installed a Hermann ice plant and water chiller from Germany,
A that is capable of producing 45 tones every 24 hours of flaked
N ice, and an unlimited supply of chilled water to 3°c. The flaked

ice is fed to an ice-weigher that straddles the main aggregate
feed belt to the mixer, and discharges the pre-set weight of ice
onto the aggregate and sand, as it travels up the conveyor.

I We have initially taken delivery of 4 new Jun Jin concrete

mounted on Scania chassis. As the production increases,
Hassanesco has 60 transit mixer available and 6 concrete
C pumps available units in additional to our pumping fleet,
O as well as a stationery pump, that is useful when supplying
N high elevation pours through a fixed vertical pipe-line.

As cement supply can be erratic, we have purchased 12
R brand new cement bulkers from Guven Co. in Turkey
E each with 30 ton carrying capacity. The bulkers will be
T fitted with new MAN TGA 19.360 4x2 tractor heads.

If the supply situation demands, we shall invest in
purchasing further bulkers as demand dictates.

O We have constructed a purpose built workshop and
stores area so that we can carry out routine servicing and

maintenance. As all the equipment is new, we do not
P expect any major repairs initially, but our recruited staff
A will be capable of complete engine building and general
N steel fabrication work. Our pumps will be serviced and
maintained by qualified hydraulic mechanics, specifically

recruited for this function.

7.4 READY-MIXED CONCRETE

7.4.1 General

1 The manufacture of readymix concrete for use in government projects may only be carried
out in batching plants that have an approval certificate issued by the Central Materials
Laboratory. When this certificate is under renewal process by the readymix concrete
manufacturer, other certificate such as NRMCA shall be considered by the Engineer as
approval on the uniformity and consistency of the facility. The engineer may request to re-
validate the uniformity tests under his supervision. In addition, the use of readymix concrete
in any part of the work shall require the Engineer’s written approval.

2 The Contractor shall satisfy the Engineer on the following:

(a) materials used in ready-mixed concrete comply with the specification in all respects

(b) manufacturing and delivery resources of the proposed supplier are adequate to ensure
proper and timely completion.

3 The specified requirements as to the sampling, trial mixing, testing and quality of concrete, of

various grades as described in Part 6 of this Section, shall apply equally to ready-mixed

concrete.

4 Every additional facility, including but not limited to testing equipment, labour, laboratory

facilities and transport, which the Engineer or persons authorised by him may require for the

supervision and inspection of the batching, mixing, testing and transporting to Site of ready-
mixed concrete shall be provided by the Contractor at no extra cost.

5 Copies of all delivery notes shall be submitted to the Engineer in duplicate, on computer
generated forms and shall include at least the following information.

(a) name of supplier, serial number of ticket and date
