ANALYSIS OF ALTERNATIVES (TECHNOLOGY AND SITE)

5.1 ANALYSIS OF ALTERNATIVES

As per EIA Notification dated 14th Sept., 2006 and its subsequent amendments; the Chapter on
“Analysis of Alternatives (Technology and Site)” is applicable only, if the same is recommended at the
Scoping stage.
As per the ToR points issued by MoEFCC, New Delhi vide letter no. IA-J-11011/58/2018-IA II (I) dated 24 th
March, 2018 for the proposed project, the Analysis of Alternatives of Site is not required.

5.1.1 Alternative Site

No alternative site has been taken into consideration as the proposed site has been acquired by the
company keeping in mind following mentioned factors:
1. Grant of state excise permissions (LOI) for setting up distillery in the district/state.
2. Raw material availability & markets for both products & by-products within the state.
3. Nearness to National Highway 19 (earlier known as NH 2) (~0.5 Km in West direction) makes it
easier to transport raw materials & final product to market.
4. Land availability is ensured and already in possession.
5. The proposed site falls in the safe groundwater zone.

5.1.2 Alternative Technology

Rajasthan Liquors Limited is proposing 125 KLPD Grain based Distillery, 25 KLPD Malt Spirit Plant and
4.5 MW Co-generation Power Plant at Village Chiraura, Tehsil Akbarpur, District Kanpur Dehat
(U.P.).The technology to be used for manufacturing of alcohol and power is one of the best and
proven technologies. The whole process will be based on proven technology. Thus, no alternative
technology will be used.
