discuss five (5) learning points from sons & Wesson’s misfortune?
I learn to perform with utmost integrity, unlike Son and Wessons that offered and paid
financial rewards and gifts to the government officials of the collaborating countries.
I learn to be just and fair unlike son and Wesson that tried to influence the procurement of
various agencies to secure its contract, which was unethical.
I learn to be competitive through outsourcing unlike son and Wesson that decided to offer a
financial rewarding exchange in order to come up with the as the best.

In relation to the case study, poor procurement ethics leads to business failure; this is
depicted when the company was highly fined a sum of 20 dollars, hence leading to loses

Tarnishes the reputation of the organizations. Sons & Wesson’s company reputation was
tarnished upon the declaration of a fine of $20 million by the US federal regulators hence
tarnishing the brand image of the company.
Poor procurement ethics leads to high costs .This is reflected when sons and wessons
company was fined to pay a fee of $20 million levied by the US regulators not to mention
doing untold damages to its reputations
It also leads to punishments of the organisation consider offenders by consumers and other

Reduction in efficiency. This was when the resources were wasted and returns were not
got.as the case Sons & Wessons did not practice any kind of maintaining value for resources
It led to the loss of the company’s reputation. That is to say the name of the company was
tarnished in public because of the unethical sales.
Poor procurement ethics led to financial loss to the company. This was because of paying the
fine of $ 20 million, that later caused a loss to the Sons & Wessons Company.

Institute ethical committees and advisors who provide guidance to the employees through
training them on how to act professionally.
Ensuring that the policy receives regular reviews and improvement, new laws and policies
hence improving procurement ethics.
Through being exemplary. A procurement manager will be able to promote ethics in an
organisation by being exemplary because the employees will depict or reflect their actions
