I am applying to the faculty of Science in the major of Food

Science and Technology at Mahidol University International
College. I would like to express my background and interest
in the area of food science. Growing up in the ice cream
factory which has been run for 2 generations. I have seen
changes and development of my family factory according to
accumulated experiences and new knowledge of food
science and technology.

During elementary school, I remembered myself having fun

learning science specifically in the topic about nutrition
testing techniques and vitamin deficiencies. I nowadays
even still recall those information I had learned from a very
young age. In high school, never did I hesitate to enroll in
food science classes as my very first choice of elective
courses. I enjoyed the class contexts and gained a lot of
knowledge in the field of food science, technology, safety
and management. I also volunteered myself as a peer tutor
for food science and biology. Being interested in broad
aspects of food, I did the science research paper for a
capstone course about extracting a UV antioxidant from
edible flowers, as well as, participated in science fair
competition in the topic of comparing an anti-clotting
property of a certain flower to that of aspirin.

I project myself to bring knowledge and experiences from

your program to help develop the food industry for better
humans’ lives. The career future of food scientists is sky-
unlimited.
