What are the major features of civilization?

 They start to create urbanization and the most important of this


urbanization are the cities were commonly were located near to rivers
for the water, the soli that help the farmers to get food surpluses,
animals that give them milk and meat.

 Some settlements became the first cities, called river valley civilizations.

How did agriculture and metalworking relate to the settlement, growth, and
development of civilization?

 In the civilization each one has a different function to do, like (artisans,
soldiers, farmers, metal workers, merchants), in the case of the metal
working and agriculture they related exchanging tools for food.

How did government work in a complex society?

 Doing a summary, the civilizations start with clans or family groups but
when this groups start to grow manage the society was more difficult,
there they decided to give some positions called royal officials and these
people can change laws, collect taxes, and defend the land, so by this
way the society works.

Does a social pyramid exist in our society today?

 Yes, I think that yes in these times we are divided for power and money,
it works like the person that has more money is one of the most
important people, and the same is with the people that do not have a lot
of money they are in the last position of the social pyramid.

Why did rulers often build massive buildings?

 Rulers often built large buildings because it was a sign of power and that


you have control of all the citizen of your empire.

How did competition lead to the growth of city-states?

 This was due to the success in banking, trade, commerce, and


industries.
