B. Write your own concept of 21 st Century Skills in each of the vertical boxes depicted by the categories.
The on the box below, write your brief explanation to indicate your clear understanding of this topic.

LIFE AND CAREER SKILLS

All the skills pertain to someone's personal life, but they also bleed into professional
environments. Flexibility is an expression of the willingness of someone to respond to changing
circumstances. Leadership is the penchant of someone to set goals, to walk a team through the
necessary steps. Entry-level employees need leadership skills so that they can apply their skills when
they are elevated to middle management or equivalent. This is where they get the real-world
experience, they need to lead whole organizations. The five 21st Century life skills are: Flexibility,
Leadership, Initiative, Productivity and Social skills

INFORMATION, MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

Information literacy helps students understand facts, especially data points, that they'll
encounter online. Media literacy helps them identify credible sources of information. Technology
literacy unmasks the high-powered tools that run today's world. Students can adapt to the world more
effectively with these skills, and they might even guide its future. The three 21st Century literacy skills
are: Information literacy, media literacy, and technology literacy.

LEARNING SKILLS

The 4 C's are by far the most common skills of the 21st century. These skills are often referred
to as learning skills. Independent thinking is the most important skill in the health sciences for anyone to
have. Collaboration involves allowing students to work together, to make compromises. Communication
is a prerequisite for any organization to retain its profitability. It is important for students to learn how to
effectively communicate ideas through various styles of personality. The four Cs include critical thought,
innovation, teamwork, communication and collaboration. Students in the 21st century would do so
without knowing proper communication.

MY UNDERSTANDING
With 21st Century skills, the students will have the adaptive qualities they need to keep up with
an ever-changing business climate. In today's economy, falling behind means being obsolete. Today,
transition is the only continuity from year to year. Today's innovations make the wonders of today
quaint or unimpressive. The world has entered an age where nothing is assured and students need to
learn to direct the transition that will inundate their lives. The future is unpredictable, so students need
to adapt to change.

complex texts.
Legal literacy refers to awareness at the primary level of law. When people (particularly

L
oppressed or underprivileged groups) become aware of the rights they possess under the
law, they can use this knowledge as a tool to combat injustice. This kind of understanding
will change their lives.

Independent learning is where learners have ownership and influence over their learning.

I
They learn through their own behavior and lead, control and evaluate their own learning.
An autonomous learner is able to set goals, make choices and make decisions about how
to fulfill his learning needs.

Technology Literacy is the ability to safely, responsibly, creatively, and effectively use

T
appropriate technology to meet personal needs, interests, and learning styles. Technology
Literacy aims to improve and enhance learning in all subject areas and experiences.

Effective teachers aim to inspire and involve all their students in learning, rather than

E
simply acknowledging that certain students cannot be engaged and are destined to do
poorly. They believe that every student is capable of achieving success at school, and they
do their utmost to find ways to make every student successful.

Religiously literate persons are described as having a basic understanding of the history,

R
core texts, beliefs, practices and contemporary manifestations of many of the world's
religious traditions as they emerge and continue to be influenced by particular social,
historical and cultural contexts and the ability to distinguish and explore the religious
aspects of the world's religious traditions.

Analytical listening is about the ability and capacity to properly analyse what is being said.

A
An analytical listener actively engages in the music he is listening to. People, action,
content, and time are the four listening styles identified by psychologists. The people-
oriented listener is more analytical than the action-oriented listeners.

Civic literacy means getting the awareness and skills you need to be part of making

C
change in your society. This involves voting, learning how the system functions, and the
rights and obligations of people and elected government representatives. When you have
good civic literacy skills, you know how to make your voice heard by all levels of
government before, during and after the elections.

Youthful Brain, when people get older, they also think about the wellbeing of their brains.

Y
Losing our brain activity seems like losing our dignity and our sense of self. Brain scientists
have reported that many people have retained a great deal of their cognitive capacity in
the nineties. When we are younger, our habits significantly influence the resilience of our
brains.
