MODULE 3
THE TEACHER AND THE SOCIETY

COURSE TITLE : THE TEACHING PREOFESSION

COURSE CODE : PS 2

Name : CANTOR, CRISTOBAL M.

Course & Year : BSED III - F

APPLICATION/ACTIVITY

Activity I
Directions. Discuss briefly but substantially

The value of teachers is enormous. Outside of their own home, teachers are the best role models
in a young person's life. The best teachers encourage their pupils to strive harder and propel themselves
forward. The more a student challenges himself, the more they know what they are capable of doing, he
adds. The best teachers appreciate the importance of devoting themselves to passion ventures. The role of
teachers in forming young minds is a great responsibility, he writes. It is good for those who have devoted
their life to educating others to focus on the critical value of good teachers.

Teachers are the guiding light for students in the field of education. I think that teachers are miracle
workers when it comes to trying to get a pupil to pass an exam. Do the doctors get all their patients to pass
their exams on their health and fitness? If they did, I would still believe physicians to be miracle men.
Teachers are also information practitioners, who transport a great deal of knowledge when forming the
minds of our young people and therefore have a duty and an image to maintain. There are several
opportunities available in today's economy, and college graduates select jobs solely because of pay rather
than pursuing what they want to do. If it's a trade or not, teachers should be known for what they're doing
just as physicians and attorneys are. In order to preserve a certain professionalism framework in the
educational setting, school programs need to take action to ensure that they do this successfully.

ASSESSMENT
A. Assessing your Learning.
Module 10: Quiz
ESSAY

Directions: Explain briefly the following questions.

1. “A great teacher in the society is like a flourishing tree”
First, I agree that a good teacher has a deep hope in the future. Like a forester planting an oak
seedling believing that he or she will never see the tree in all its glory, I realize that I will never see the fruits
of my labors as a teacher. My call is to plant and cultivate seeds that will rise and mold tomorrow. A good
teacher learns and respects how students grow and learn. I recognize that students are consciously
developing and transforming their own expertise on the basis of past experience and prior learning. I know
that not all students learn the same way or at the same pace. I assume that it is my duty as a teacher to be
a successful diagnose of students' desires, skills and previous experience. Then I have to plan learning
opportunities that will both encourage and encourage every student to consider and develop. An effective
teacher wants to know her subjects and how to help students understand those subjects. I know that a
good instructor must have a strong understanding of how knowledge is produced in the discipline, how it is
structured and how it is connected to other disciplines. I use my discipline experience to introduce my
students to logical thought trends, to inspire them to consider, apply, synthesize, and assess everything
they read and hear. I enjoy the subjects I teach, and I know how to make my students come alive. Finally, I
agree that the teacher lives to lead. An instructor is committed to studying, to his or her discipline, to his or
her pupils, and to make the world the best place for all of us to live. These are the obstacles that I
embraced when I decided to be a teacher.

2. “The passion of a teacher to teach is an indication of a great and successful learning”.

BINALONAN, PANGASINAN

You can only become a teacher if you love children and want to take care of them with your heart.
You can't ask the kids to have fun if you're not having fun with them! If you just read the instructions in the
textbook, it's counterproductive. Instead, let the lessons come alive by making them as social and
entertaining as possible. Let the love for teaching come through every day. Enjoy the minute of teaching to
the fullest. Students deserve better than you do to get your frustration on them. And if you're having a tough
day, learn to wear a mask in front of the students and make them dream of you as a superhero. Be
someone who's still optimistic, cheerful and laughing. Don't let the negativity of other people drag you down
with them. Positive energy is infectious, and it's up to you to spread it. Be versatile and go with the flow
anytime there's a transition. A successful teacher should not worry about a shift when a new principal
appears. Embrace transition and prove that you are capable of hitting any curve ball that comes in your
way. A successful teacher is focusing on their teaching to develop as a teacher. Dream of what went well
and what you'd do better next time. Know that both of us have "failed" lessons from time to time. There's
still something to read and know about in order to improve your teaching skills.

3. One of the most important parts of teaching is having dedication. How can you show your dedication in
teaching? Cite a scenario by creating a dialogue between two teachers –Teacher A and Teacher B.
Dedication to it. Probably the most evident of the qualities, but a good teacher is committed to their
job and to teaching their pupils. "Love" and "passion" are frequently thrown around when you think how
much a teacher puts his heart into his teaching, but commitment takes the cake away. A devoted teacher
not only has a passion for her profession and wants to teach, she also strives consistently to make her
classroom a safer environment for everyone. To be a teacher is one of the most valuable and significant
professions out there. Fairness and justice are two critical aspects of being a committed instructor. Good
organization can allow the classroom to operate smoothly and productively. Well-rounded teachers are
intrigued with the idea of learning that can, in essence, interrupt pupils. A well-rounded instructor inspires
students to reach out to the stars and not settle for anything other than the best of their ability. Teachers
are responsible for putting together big numbers of pupils, so it is important for them to have good
communication skills. Students need a structured environment to learn successfully, and consistency and
predictability will make students feel safe. Teachers should be able to pick up on the qualities and
shortcomings of particular students and to concentrate on how to tolerate, accentuate and remove them.

ENRICHMENT

Directions. Write your reflections on this module.

I have learned in this module that…

The role of a teacher in society is both critical and beneficial. It has a far-reaching influence on the
culture in which he works, and no other identity can have a greater influence than that of a teacher. A
fantastic teacher is building a supportive learning environment for all students. Students feel secure to
share their emotions and learn to respect people and listen to others. A great teacher provides a feeling of
identity and belonging to the classroom. Mutual respect in the classroom of a teacher creates a positive,
constructive atmosphere. A great teacher lets students know that they can rely not just on her, but also on
the whole class. A good teacher is soft, open, enthusiastic and compassionate. Good teachers show
excellent listening skills and take time out of their busy schedules. This is the instructor that students feel
they can do for some sort of issues or questions. Good teachers concentrate on joint decision-making and
collaboration, as well as group building. This fantastic teacher conveys that feeling of leadership. A
fantastic teacher works with peers on an ongoing basis. She sees teamwork as a way to learn from a fellow
practitioner. She is using positive criticism. A better instructor preserves discipline in all respects, from
physical presence to interpersonal abilities. Her listening skills are outstanding, whether she is referring to
an executive, a pupil or a colleague.
