Installation of electric equipments in dwellings and public building – Design


standard
This code is applied for installing electric equipments in dwellings (residential, houses with
garden, hotel-like houses, dormitory, etc.) and other public buildings.

This code is not applicable for either special buildings or particular electric installation in public
buildings.

Installation of electric equipments in dwellings and public building must meet specified
requirements in relevant standards and codes. Also, for public buildings, it must be complied
with regulated requirements of current standards and codes of each type of building.

This code shall supersede the norm of installing electric equipments in architectural buildings
20 TCN 27: 1967.

1. General regulation

1.1 Designing of supplying power for dwellings and public buildings must be guaranteed
about specified requirements of reliability of power supplying for each apartment in
accordance with QTĐ 11 TCN 18: 1984. Please see Appendix 2 - Classification of
power consuming apartments and power consuming equipments according to reliability
of power supply.

1.2 Calculated voltage for supplying power for electric equipments in dwellings and public
building (excluded for electric engines) is not more than 220V. Buildings with grid
voltage of 220/110V should be transferred to grid voltage of 380/220V if considered to
be suitable for technical and economic requirements.

1.3 Power supply for electric engines (generator) shall be received from neuter grid voltage
of 380/220V with direct earth connection.

1.4 There shall be a standby capacity of not less than 5% of total capacity to supply power
for advertisement lighting, shop window, floor decorating, regulating system, panels
and direction signals, sonic signal systems, fire protection and fighting system as well as
obstacle indicator light of the building.

1.5 Loss of voltage in pole of light bulb and motive power equipments installed furthest
over specified voltage does not exceed the following values:

- For light of office: ± 5%

- For light of dispersing people and problem: ± 5%

- For voltage equipments of 12-42V (calculated from power supply source): ± 10%

- For electric engine:


+ Work permanently in stable status: ± 5%

+ Work permanently in unstable status: ± 15%

Note:

- Grip voltage, including remote controlled or automatic one, should be checked


under the condition of starting electric engines.

- Lighting grid voltages, under the condition of allowable

2. Load and calculation

2.1 Calculated load of all apartments in the dwelling named PCH shall be applied in the
following formula:

PCH = Pch x n

In which:

Pch – calculated load (kw) of each apartment, specified in Table 1

n – number of apartments in dwellings

2.2 Calculated load for dwellings (including calculated load for apartments and electric
equipments) PNO shall be applied in the formula:

2.3 Calculated load (kw) of electric equipments shall be applied as follows:

a) For electric engines of pump, ventilation, heat supply and other sanitary devices, it
shall be applied total capacity of special character of 0.8 and required coefficient as
follows:

1 – when number of electric engine is from 1 to 3

0.8 – when number of electric engine is over 3.

b) For lifts, it shall be applied with the following formula:

Capacity coefficient of lift shall be equal to 0.6

c) When specifying calculated load without calculating capacity of standby electric


engines, except from choosing security air equipment and profile of conduit. When
specifying calculated load of electric engines for fire fighting equipments, should
apply required coefficient equal to 1 with incidental number of engine.

2.4 Coefficient of calculated capacity for the grid in the dwellings must be from 0.80 to
0.85.

2.5 When designing lighting grid for public buildings such as hotel, dormitory, common
used rooms (staircase, basement, roof –bounded level, etc.) as well as rooms unused for
staying such as shops, stands, storage, workshop, serviced factory for life activities,
administrative offices, etc. should apply calculated load in accordance with calculating
lighting technique with required coefficient equal to 1.

2.6 Calculated load of grid supplying for sockets Poc (if not have data of electric equipments
supplied by these sockets) with electric network of more than two groups (lighting
group, socket group), shall be applied with the following formula:

Poc = 300n (w)

With: n – number of socket

2.7 Calculated load for inlets of public building shall be applied in accordance with
technical calculation of the building. Preparing economic-technical feasibility and
technical design shall apply values in Table 3.

2.8 Calculated load of electrical grid supplying for public building P đl (kw) shall be applied
in the following formula:

Pđl = Pmax + n1P1 + n2P2 + … + niPi

With:

Pmax – Power (kw) of the largest electric equipment

P1; P2; …; Pi – Power (kw) of the rest of electric equipments

n1, n2, …, ni – Number of simultaneously working electric equipments of each type of


one.

2.9 Calculated load of lighting grid and electricity supplying for public building Pcc (kw)
shall be applied as follow:

Pcc = 0.9 (Pcs + Pđl)

With:

3. Transformer station, inlet equipments, panel (box, cabinet), electricity, security


equipment

3.1 Not install transformer station (TS) inside or nearby dwelling (apartment, gardening
house, dormitory, hotel-like house), patient house and curing house of hospital, rest
home; school room and other working rooms of various schools including vocational
school, cultural, professional and political supplementary school.

For other public buildings, we can install TS inside the house or nearby the wall but
rooms must be well sound-proofed and sure about technical requirements in accordance
with allowed standard of noise in public buildings 20 TCN 175 1990. The station must
be provided with fire protection wall isolated from nearby room and direct exit.

Install transformer with any cooling system in this station.

3.2 Rooms provided with voltage distributing equipment of 1000V that apartment’s
consuming manager can access should not communicate with other room of the station
with voltage equipment and must have a separate keyed door.

3.3 Install inlet equipment or inlet distribution equipment at the entrance of the apartment.
Before entering the apartment, not place a separate cable connected board to divide
internal and external grid. This division must be carried out in inlet distribution
equipment or in main distribution equipment.

3.4 Install air controlled and security tools in inlet or inlet distribution. Not to install air
controlled tools in inlet or inlet distribution equipment with electric current of 25A.
When branches turning from the air line into the apartment are installed security air
tools with electric current of 25A, not install inlet or inlet distribution equipment.

It is allowed to install security air tools in inlet of the line entering the apartment when
there is a security at the beginning point of turning or when inlet or inlet distribution
equipment is supplied power by a separate line.

In every outlet line of the panel (box, board) of electric distribution, in case of installing
security air tools, it should be installed common controlled security air tools for some
outlet lines. When co-operating inlets with panel (box, board) of electric distribution, it
is allowed not to install inlet security air tools of the line entering the apartment if that
equipment is already installed in the beginning part of turning line.

3.5 Install controlled air tools at the inlet of electric supplying line for shops, serviced
factories, administrative offices as well as rooms of consuming apartments, especially
transaction offices of the enterprises despite of installing controlled air tools at the
beginning point of the line or at the branch turning from supplied line.
3.6 When arranging security air tools, apart from requirements of electric current, the
following requirements should be met:

a) In the dwelling and public buildings, it should be installed low-voltage power cutter

b) Not install panel (box) of separate level when the staircase far from vertical axis
panel not over 3m and this panel has the same function with the electric panel (box)

3.7 The inlets, inlet distribution, main distribution equipments must be installed in the room
with electric panel (board) or in box or keyed wall drawer (hộc tường có khóa). In the
flooded areas, the inlet and main distribution must be installed higher than the largest
flooded level.

For houses without staircase, it is allowed to install inlet in the wall outside the house
but there must be satisfactory security method and not effect on building’s structure and
look.

Install inlet, inlet distribution and main distribution in other rooms, dry basements, or
technical floor that manager easily accesses or in the office of the building with fire-
resistance wall with fire resistance level of less than 0.75 hour.

3.8 When installing inlet, inlet distribution and main distribution, panels (boxes, boards) of
electric distribution and điện nhóm, apart from room of electric panel, these
requirements need to be met:

a) Install equipment at convenience and enterable places to operate, repair, for example
staircase, dry basement, etc.

b) Install electric air tools in the metal board (box) or in keyed wall drawer, door;
controlling handle of these air tools should not be exposed or otherwise must be
detachable after operation.

3.9 Not install electric panel (box, board) below or inside bathroom, toilet, kitchen, washing
basin, laundry room, chemical room, etc.

Water pipelines, ventilation, hot steam pipe, and other technical boxes when running
through electric panel (board, box) room, it is not allowed to place covers, valves,
flanges, man hole and taps except the real necessity. Not install combustible gases,
conduits through electric panel (board, box) room.

Room with electric panel (board, box) must have door with outside connecting and key.

3.10 Room with inlet, inlet distribution, main distribution, panel (box, board) of electric
distribution must be naturally ventilated and lighted.

4. Internal grid

4.1 Internal grid must be in accordance with the following requirements:


a) Various design of electricity location (but still in a building) is allowed to supply
power by a separate branch connecting with common supply line or a separate line
from inlet, main distribution or subsidiary distribution.

It is allowed to supply power for rooms not used for staying through common
supply line with the condition that at the turning place there must be separate khí cụ

b) A line is allowed to supply power for some vertical sections. Only for the building
of more than 5 levels, each vertical section must be installed separate khí cụ đóng

c) Lighting of staircase, common path, corridor and other rooms outside the building
must be supplied power by separate lines from main distribution equipment.

Not take electric for the above areas from Room Distribution Board

4.2 Line of lighting group in the building must be protected by cầu chảy or low voltage
electric cutter with electric current of not more than 25A.

Line of power supply group for đèn phóng khí with its capacity of 125W or more, burn
light bulb with its capacity of 500W or more can be protected by cầu chảy or low
voltage electric cutter with its electric current of 63A.

4.3 Not hang over 20 burnt bulbs, fluorescent lamp, high voltage mercury lamp, sodium
lamp, including sockets at every phase of the line of the house.

For lines of cable group for lamps of kiểu các ni, trần sáng, mảng sáng, … as well as
fluorescent lamp, it can be connected with one phase of 50 bulbs, with power supply
lines for đèn chùm, number of bulb of more than one phase is not limited.

It is allowed to connect to each phase of lighting group for staircase, corridor, landing,
lobby, technical floor, nearby roof floor, etc. 60 burnt bulbs (bóng nung sáng) with each
one of 60W capacity.

With the bulb of 10kw or more of capacity, it is possible to connect with each phase not
more than one bulb.

4.4 Power supply vertical section for the apartment must be placed along staircase of
corridor and not running through rooms.

It is allowed to install power supply line for the apartment along with lighting line of
staircase in corridor and other common areas in common trench, ống hộp luồn dây

4.5 From electric panel (bảng điện tầng) leading to Room Distribution Board must be
installed in separate trenches, ống hộp luồn dây riêng.

Lines supplied for the apartment and lighting line of staircase, corridor and other
common areas can be made from neuter line but must be in accordance with the
regulations in Point 4.1.1.
4.6 Install two group lines (đường dây nhóm) with independently one phase in the
apartment: one for common lighting, one for electric devices used for domestic
activities through sockets.

It is allowed to supply power for lamp and sockets by a common group line.

4.7 In trade and domestic-serviced enterprises (shops, commercial centre, restaurant, etc.),
electric engines of technological equipments as well as sanitary equipments with not
much capacity (to 3kw) can be supplied power by a common group line but number of
engines is not more than 4.

4.8 Not install warming equipment, ventilation system, pump station, wet rooms in
technical floor, basement and conduits must be installed openly.

In bathroom, conduit must be installed openly and used the one of protected cover or
electric cable. Not install conduit with protected cover in steel pipe or metal boxes.

In kindergarten, food processing rooms as well as rooms with sanitary or aseptic


requirements such as explosive rooms, serum preparing room, etc., the lines must be
installed closely (underground wall, below mortar, in the pipe, box, etc.)

4.9 When the grid is installed in non-traveled and hanged ceiling, they are considered to be
a close grid and carried out as follows:

- For ceiling of combustible material, insert (luồn) in the metal pipe (box)

- For ceiling of incombustible material, insert in flexible pipe (box) or cable and
conduit protected by a cover of incombustible material, it is necessary to ensure
about capability of replacing and repairing conduit and electric cable.

4.10 Profile of ruột dây dẫn (inner tube of conduit) of each section in dwelling’s grid shall
not be less than specified value in Table 4.

Note: For grid of 3 phases and 4 lines, when its section of 16mm 2 (bronze) and 25mm2
(aluminium), neuter line of vertical section must have section equal to the one of dây pha.

4.11 Installing electrical conduit line shall be in accordance with regulations of standard of
installing electrical line in the dwellings and public buildings 20 TCN 25: 1990 and
procedures of electric equipment QTĐ 11 TCN 18: 1984.

5. Electric light installation

5.1 Voltage supplied for common electric lights shall not exceed 380/220V with neuter and
direct earth connecting alternative current power grid (lưới điện xoay chiều) and not
exceed 220V for neuter isolated alternative current and one direct power supply.

Electrical supply for lights shall usually utilize phase electric (điện áp pha) of not more
than 220V. For non-dangerous areas, it is allowed to use the aforesaid voltage when
installing light stably and independent on installing level.

5.2 In extremely dangerous areas, when using light with burnt light, high voltage mercury
light, halogen, metal and sodium light if level of installation less than 2.5m over ground
surface and working space, it must have structure of not touching light when using tools
of removing lights. Electric line into light must be inserted in metal pipe and cable of
protected cover; or electric cable for burnt light with voltage of not over 42V. These
above requirements shall be applied for lights installed in the rooms with electric panel
as well as areas of professionally electric staffs. Install fluorescent light of 127-220V
voltage at the level over small ground surface of over 2.5m when not incidentally

5.3 Local burnt light installed stably in non-dangerous rooms shall utilize voltage of not
more than 220V; in extremely dangerous rooms of not more than 42V.

When these lights have special structure and are a part of lighting system, problems of
supplying power from an independent power supply and installed in dangerous rooms
(but not extremely dangerous) it is allowed to use voltage of 220V.

5.4 It is allowed to use fluorescent light of 127-220V to light locally when not incidentally

It is just allowed to use fluorescent light with special structure to light locally in wet, hot
and active environment rooms.

5.5 Voltage supplied for mobile local light must be specified as follows:

a) For hand-carrying lights, not use voltage of more than 42V in extremely rooms

When working in inconvenient conditions such as neat working place easily touch
large metal surface with earth connection shall use voltage of not more than 12V.

b) Mobile lightings with suspension hook, desktop and floor lamp can be utilized
voltage equal to the one of stably local lighting. (Item 5-3)

5.6 In extremely dangerous rooms, lights with different voltages must have various signs or
forms to easily distinguish.
5.7 Should install wall lamps (đèn tường) above the door in bathroom of the apartment.
Install lamps in the glass in the bathroom of hotel’s room and be in accordance with
regulations in Item 5-10.

5.8 Rooms in the apartment, house with garden, hotel-like house, guest house and some
other rooms in the public buildings with floor area of over 18m shall be installed multi-

5.9 Should install lighting at main entrances of the house in order to ensure about specified
illumination (độ rọi) in the yard, path and steps into the house in accordance with
artificial lighting standard in public buildings 20 TCN 16: 1986.

5.10 Should use lights with cover made from insulated materials in bathrooms and toilets of
the house. When burnt lights installed in these rooms at height of 2.5m or less, it must

users. Shall not specify height of installation of wet-resistance fluorescent lights (đèn

electrically charged parts of lights.

5.11 Components, accessories of burnt lights must be made from incombustible materials. It
is allowed to utilize combustible materials for light support components (cấu kiện đỡ
đèn) but be installed far from light source. Reflecting and scattering parts of opened
lights are allowed to be made from paper, fabric, silk, rattan and bamboo, plastic or
similar materials but it is sure that calorie (nhiệt lượng) originated from lights does not
increase surrounding temperature of air to 50oC.

For fluorescent lights, it is allowed to use components and accessories of combustible


materials but be installed far from light source at least 15mm.

5.12 Suspension hook of ceiling lights must be insulated by plastic pipe, ghen nhựa or
similar insulated materials. This requirement is not applicable if the suspension hook is
hanged in wooden ceiling or need to nối không.

Suspension hook of lights in the public buildings, except from special cases, must have
the following dimensions:

External diameter of half round of suspension hook is 35mm. Distance from ceiling to
the starting point of suspension hook (chỗ bắt đầu uốn móc) is 12mm. The suspension
hook must be made from round bar of 6mm diameter.

5.13 Structure of (treo đèn) must have load of 5 times bigger than weight of light in 10
minutes without any damages distortion. For public buildings, except from special
cases, light weight must be calculated as 15kg.

5.14 In dwellings, it shall install staircase lighting controlled by automatic switch (có duy trì
thời gian) for moving to upper levels.

Lighting through staircase of level, lobbies, entrances and gates of the house must be
maintained all night, not depending on controlling system of lighting for staircase in in-
use floors.
5.15 Lift shaft as well as plant room, room in lift shaft and slab in front of entrances of the
lift, entrance of corridor leading to the lift, room in lift shaft and to the bottom of lift
shaft must be installed lights with burnt bulbs in the wall (bóng nung sáng trên tường)
with lift shaft surrounded by net glass (kính lưới) or similar covered materials, not
necessarily install the aforesaid lights outside shaft of artificial lighting ensure about
necessary illumination for internal area of lift shaft.

5.16 Lighting and accessories must be installed for easily and safely maintain by normally
technical methods and ways. If not meeting this requirement, it shall propose separate
equipments such as fold ladder, mobile shed, etc.

Only use normal ladders when lights are installed far from slab not more than 5m.

6 Installation of electric equipments in the house

6.1 Electric equipments in the house must be selected in accordance with voltage of supplied
electric network, environmental nature and usage requirements.

6.2 Install at least one socket for each room of apartment, house with garden, hotel-like house,
dormitory, office, etc.

6.3 Install at least one socket of 10A in the kitchen or dining room of apartment, house with
garden, hotel-like house, dormitory, office, etc.

6.4 It is prohibited to install sockets in toilet and bathrooms. Particularly in bathroom of


apartment, house with garden, hotel-like house, guest house, etc., it is allowed to install
sockets supplied power by insulated transformer.

6.5 In primary school, nursery school, kindergarten and places for children, sockets must be
installed far from floor 1.7m

In rooms of types of houses, sockets must e installed far from slab 1.5m

In rooms of public buildings, sockets must be installed far from slab from 0.4 to 0.5m
depending on requirements of technique, usage and internal arrangement.

6.6 In shops, restaurants, commercial serviced and public factories, switches for office problem
lighting and evacuation in kiosk, dining room, and public areas, it must be installed in
place where manager can easily approach

6.7 Switch must be installed in the wall, nearby the door (handle of the door) far from slab
1.5m.

In primary school, nursery school, kindergarten and places for children, sockets must be
installed far from floor 1.7m

6.8 In apartment, house with garden, hotel-like house as well as public buildings, it is allowed
to use bell of 220V but complying with construction environment.

6.9 Electric engine for dwellings and public buildings (water pump, ventilation, lift, etc.) and
controlled protection air equipments (khí cụ bảo vệ điều khiển) must be installed in
places where manager can easily approach. For controlling buttons of the lift, fire
protection system, ventilation, water pump, etc. must be installed in a comfortable
operation place and written in the label to distinguish.

6.10 A line shall only supply for not more than 4 lifts in various staircases. If a staircase has
2 lifts or more with the same usage characteristic, it must be supplied power from
directly various lines from inlet distribution or main distribution. There is rarely
quantity of inlet lift of each unlimited line.

6.11 Controlling vessel (mạch điều khiển) of electric engine of pump for water tank shall be
provided with automatic equipment of adjusting water level.

6.12 Electric engine of fire fighting pump must supply power in accordance with reliability
of power supply (Appendix 2)

If not having stand-by electric engine, the one of fire fighting pump must be supplied
power by 2 lines, one of which must be connected directly to electric distribution board
of transformer station, inlet distribution or main distribution.

Vessel transferring from this line to other line must be carried out by manual or
automatically.

6.13 Shall install (nút bấm đóng điện) for fire fighting pump at each fire hydrant. In fire
fighting pipeline, if not having branch entering water supply source then should relay of
water stream or pressure relay to cut electric automatically for fire fighting pump when
opening one of those fire fighting … (hang chữa cháy).

6.14 It is allowed to install electric engine at roof-nearby floor but not in the rooms, offices
and be in accordance with requirements of allowed noise level standard in the public
building 20TCN07: 1987.

6.15 Electric engine in the dwelling and public building must use closed engine. Opened and
protected electric engine shall be installed only in a separate space with wall, ceiling and
floor of incombustible material, arrange far from combustible parts of the house at least
0.5m.

Arrange air equipments of cutting electrical vessels nearby electric engine to repair the
engine safely.

7 Installation of (watt) meter

7.1 Should install a one phase (watt) meter of 5 - 20A in each room of the dwelling.

For apartments with special requirements or load of over 20A, it is allowed to install a 3
phase (watt) meter or some one phase (watt) meter.

7.2 In public buildings, for some apartments consuming power without using the same
official unit, then should install a separate (watt) meter there.

7.3 (Watt) meter for dwelling (lighting for staircases, corridor, or water pump, etc.) must be
installed in the board (panel) of inlet, inlet distribution or main distribution but ensured
to easily check and read the wattage indicator.
7.4 If power supplied for fire fighting buildings taken from independent electric board
(panel) then shall install a separate (watt) meter at each board (panel) to calculate
consumed wattage.

7.5 When transformer station is constructed in or nearby dwelling and building, and
station’s power for this building does not obstruct payment for wattage consuming and
reading of wattage indicator, it is allowed to install (watt) meter in the transformer’s
inlet at low-voltage electric panel (board) and concurrently used as inlet distribution.

Inlet distribution and (watt) meters for various hired apartments of the building can be
installed in the same room.

7.6 (Watt) meter in the apartment must be installed together with security air tools (cầu
chảy, low voltage electric cutter (máy cắt điện hạ áp)).

7.7 (Watt) meter in the apartment must be installed in Room Distribution Board of that
apartment for one apartment house; at staircase, corridor, bảng hộp điện tầng for multi
apartment house.

(Watt) meter at staircase, corridor, etc. must be installed in metal boxes of at least 1mm
with locks and illegally removable structure. This box shall have windows of 1.5 x 4cm
to read wattage indicator and write down name of used apartments and rooms.

7.8 (Watt) meter in electric panels (boards) must be installed at the height of 1.5m from the
centre of panel (board) to the floor’s surface. Openly installed (watt) meter must be
placed at the height of 1.5m from hộp đấu dây of (watt) meter to floor’s surface and
ensure not to be stroke or illegally removed.

7.9 Selection of (watt) meter must be considered to its allowed overload.

7.10 Security air tools must be placed as near as possible, behind (watt) meter and does not
exceed 10m according to the line’s length. If (watt) meter has some đường dây ra with
security air tools then should not install common security air tools behind (watt) meter.

7.11 (Watt) meter must be installed in dry, low temperature place where is convenient for
repairing and reading wattage indicator.

be used cables covered with rubber, plastic, lead, etc. or inserted into metal pipes (steel
or rolled corrugated iron pipes, etc.)

7.13 In inlet of the house, it is allowed to install an amperemeter and voltmeter “chuyển
mạch” to check electric current and voltage of each phase in the condition of the
requirement of exploiting electric equipments.

7.14 In the public buildings, for electric supplying lines for lighting load and motive power,
we should install an amperemeter at each phase in case that lighting load is more than
40% of common load (lighting and motive power).

8 Earthing and neutral grounding


8.1 Electric equipments of the dwelling and public building must be earthing and neutral
grounding as per the requirements of norm of earthing for electric equipments QPVN
13-78 and Norm of electric equipments QTĐ 11 TCN 18-1984.

8.2 In the rooms, kitchen, bath rooms, toilets of variety of dwellings, room in the hotel, it is
unnecessary to carry out earthing to metal cover of fixed lights of hand electric tools
(home appliances, water boiler, vacuum cleaner, etc.) and portable tools (electric
cooker, sewing machine, water pump, etc.).

For these rooms, just carry out earthing and metal connection of fixed electric devices as
well as metal pipe for inserting electric line leading to them.

8.3 In public toilets, bathroom of many kinds of dwelling and public building, metal cover
of bathtub must have metal line connecting to metal water conduit.

8.4 In rooms with hanged ceiling, metal structures must be carried out neutral grounding
with metal of hanged or hidden lights in the ceiling.

8.5 In office and other service rooms of public buildings, hotels, apartments, dormitory,
house with garden, etc. if having steam heaters and other metal structures then carry out
neutral grounding for metal cover of portable or in-hand electric devices. In these
rooms, when floor is not conductive and without metal conduit, steam heater and other
metal structures are not required to be carried out neutral grounding in metal cover of
portable and in-hand devices.

8.6 In order to carry out neutral grounding for metal cover of electric devices using one
phase in dwelling and public building , then should install separate conduits vertically
passing through MDP, SDP, Input Board, RDP. Section of these conduits shall be equal
to section of phase line.

8.7 Not use metal cover to be earthing or neutral grounding line of metal pipes with folded
connections, metal connected pipes and lead cover of electric cable, metal conduits
(fuel, gas, steam conduit, air ventilation conduit, exhausting pipe, etc.).
Appendix 1

Terms and definition

1. Input equipments (IE) is a set of all structures and electric equipments installed at the
beginning of electric supplying line into the dwelling or its part.
Input distribution equipment (IDE) is a set of all structures, equipments and electric air
tools installed at the beginning of electric supplying line into the dwelling or its part as
well as at the beginning of the line from input equipments.

2. Main Distribution Panel (box, board) (MDP) is a panel (box, board) used to supply power
for the dwelling or its part. It is possible to use IDE or low voltage panel (board)

3. Subsidiary Distribution Panel (box, board) (SDP) is a distribution panel (box, board) get
power from MDP or

4. Distribution point, group panel (box, board) is points (boxes, boards) installed protection
equipments and exchanging electrical tools

5. Room Distribution Panel / Board (RDP) is group panels (boards) installed in the
apartment or staircase of each level to connect to group grid of the apartment.

6. Level Distribution Panel / Board (LDP) is group panels (boards) installed in each level to
supply power for RDP and in the staircase, corridor of each level.

In case that LDP has only power meter and protection equipments installed at the output
line of these meters, then that LDP shall also be called Power Metering Panel / Board
(PMP).

7. Switchboard room is the one with locked door installed IE, IDP, SDP, etc. and only
manager can reach.

8. Power grid is the lines from distribution system of transformer station or connection
points from power transmission line to IDE, MDP and distribution point or group panel
(board).

9. Group power grid is lines supplying power for lights and sockets.

10. Distribution power grid id lines supplying power for electrical equipments.

11. Vertical riser is a grid section installed vertically supplying power for levels and in the
apartment.

12. Opened line is the line installed in the wall surface, ceiling, beam, bar or construction
structures or overhead.

13. Recessed line is the line installed within the construction sections of the dwelling (in the
wall, ceiling, slab, under wall, ceiling mortar, under floor mortar, floor tiling, or tiling
covers with other materials) as well as in construction components of slab, ceiling or
wall.
