Dear Sir,

I want to express my sincere gratitude for showing deep concerns with my teaching method and instruction. I appreciate your suggestion to use
traditional assessment in my class however, I prefer utilizing performance tasks over traditional assessment.

Assessment without authenticity may not truly reflect performance ability. Researches show that teachers use traditional assessment because
it’s convenient for them but it doesn’t give a complete picture nor generate growth and mastery. What we need is the most authentic way to
measure learning and to monitor student’s progress. And this is through Performance-Based Assessment. PBA require students to actively
demonstrate what they know. It is also a valid indicator if students truly acquired the knowledge and skills we teach to them.

Thus, I highly recommend using Performance-based assessment as an alternative to traditional assessment. There is a need to change the
School’s Educational Philosophy prior to the way we assess student learning. Let us make changes by moving the learning from the restrictive
culture of grading into an experience where we can generate joy and meaning. Let’s all make gigantic shift.
