Tornado
A tornado is a powerful, twisting wind storm. It is one of the most destructive of all
the storms that we have on the earth. It is also called a waterspout.

A tornado is a long sloud which comes down from te sky. It is shaped like a funnel
and consists of wind which whirls around and around extremely fast. In fact, the wind
can reach a speed of more than 900 km per hour.

Most tornado form a long front (boundary) between cool, dry air and warm, humid
air. Weather scientists are unable to know exactly when tornadoes will occur.
Fortunately, the tornado is not usually very big and it does not last.

Tornado

Russian Nuklear Catastrophe

A russian journalist has uncovered evidence of another soviet nuclear


catastrophe, which killed 10 salors and contaminated an entire town.

2. Backround event

Yelena vazrshavskya is the first journalist to speak to people who witnessed the
explosion of nuclear submarine at the naval base of shkotovo-22 near Vladivostock.

The accident, which occurred 13 months before the chernobyl disaster, spread
radioactive fall-out over the base and nearby town, but was covered up by officials of
the explosion in the reactor of the victor-class submarine during a refit had been a
thermal and not a nuclear explosion. And those involved in the clean-upoperation to
remove more than 600 tons of contaminated materialswere sworn to secrecy.

Talk To Ghost

1. Abstract

Have you ever talk to someone who in fact has died ?

2. Orientation

Mr.Carrol was nearly ninety, so it was often difficult for him to remember things,
but he still liked travelling very much, so he and his wife went to spain every year.

3. Crisis

One summer when they were there, they went to visit a friend, Mr. Donald. He had
two young dougthers Shinta and Alvira. One afternoon after lunch, Mr. Carrol was
talking to one of them in the garden. He asked if Sinta and her sister had ill when he and
his wife had been there last year.

4. Incident

Sinta said to Mr. Carrol that they had been very ill. Mr. Carrol said nothing for a
minute because he was thinking. Then at last he said that he remembered one of them
had died. He asked which one died, sinta or her sister. Sinta answered that it was her.
Mr. Carrol said that he was really sorry to hear that.

5. Coda

Mr. Carrol didn’t realize that he had just talked to a ghost. Poor man!

We Don’t Subscribe Any Newspapers


1. Orientation

Jack was a university student. He studied history. At the end of his first year, his
historylecture professor failed him in his examination and he was told to leave the
university.

2. Events

The next day, jack’s father went to see the professor. He urged the professor to let
jack continue his studies in the following year. “ He’s a good boy,”said jack’s father,
“and if you let him pass this time , i’m sure he’ll improve a lot next year and pass the
examinationat the end of the year well.”

“ no, no! Thats quite impossible!” replied the professor.

Do you know, last month I asked him when Napoleon died, and he could not answer
it.”
