PRODUCT INFORMATION:
□ APPLICATION: Small restaurant kitchen or salad prep areas in large kitchen. Snack bars,
schools and churches where food waste is light and volume is not great.
□ DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION:
 Motor: reversing, con nuous duty ra ng. Equipped with manual reset thermal over‐
load inherent protector. Permanently lubricated ball bearings for upper and lower
shelf support. Upper bearing is sealed on both sides.
 Housings: Heavy aluminum grind and discharge housings. Four bolts fasten the motor
unit to the grind chamber, permit easy removal.
 Moun ng: Disposer suspends from Cone or Sink Assembly.
 Sta onary Shredder Ring: 1‐3/4” high, 4 machine ground primary ac on breaker bars,
42 secondary ac on grinding teeth.
 Flywheel: Breaker blade, mounted at center, speeds grinding, prevents objects from
“riding” at center. Two hardened stainless steel cu er blocks (fastened to flywheel
with nylock screws) are replaceable, can be indexed for new cu ng edges. Ni‐Resist
flywheel is 6‐3/8” diameter, slots undercut the shredder ring to assure that par cles
are cut to proper size before passing to the drain line. Tight tolerance in the cu ng
mechanism allows for approximately 1/8” or 3.175mm or less of waste to pass

 Motor Sha Seal: Face‐type seal consists of sintered bronze ma ng ring and spring

loaded carbon ring insert in chemical resistant neoprene bellows. Ma ng surfaces are
protected from grit or fibers by being recessed into flywheel. Should any moisture
pass the seal, a flinger and drain tube are provided to insure immediate removal. In
“H” Series
addi on, a lip‐type oil seal (located beneath the bearings) is an “added protec on”
Basic Disposer water seal.
 Drain Connector: A chrome plated brass tail‐piece is provided for connec on to a 1‐
1/2” standard drain trap.

 Waste chamber design permits dual direc onal opera on when used with reversing
control or switch, doubling the life cycle of the sha ering mechanism. Regular waste
chamber available with a 7” throat size.
 Access to waste chamber by means of a cast aluminum lid having a 7” diameter throat
opening, removable by means of quick‐release head clamps
 Basic body components are cast gray iron, machined, primed and powder coated.
 10‐5/8” Diameter rotor/turntable with exclusive adjustable 45° angle and 6 integral im‐
pact breakers constructed of hardened duc le steel alloy for long life use. Matching 45°
sizing ring with 24 grind teeth constructed of hardened duc le steel alloy.
 Tight tolerance in the cu ng mechanism allows for approximately 1/8” or 3.175mm or
less of waste to pass through to sanitary.
 Bolt‐on, threaded discharge flange for easy removal and ridged drain connec on. Also
includes flexible drain connector that slips over flange and fastens quickly to either metal
or PVC drain line (2” pipe size). This allows installer op ons that best fit their need.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADJUSTABLE
TIMER WITH AUTO SHUT DOWN
This timer is used to control the shut down
sequence of industrial garbage disposal units. When
either the Stop input is activated or the Auto Shut
Down timer times out, the two stage shut down
sequence begins. The first stage is Clean Out, where
both the motor and water flow continue for up to 2
minutes. The second stage is Positive Flush, where
the motor is stopped, but the water flow is continued,
also for up to 2 minutes. The disposal may be
restarted at any time, but if the motor has been off for
more than 30 seconds, its direction will be reversed.
There are 3 trim-pots on the timer that adjust operation. The description of the trim-pot set-
tings below are given in terms of percent turn from full counter-clock-wise (CCW) to full clock-wise
(CW). Each trim-pot has 11 indentations, or marks that can be used to help adjust the desired
value. They indicate 10 percent increments, starting at 0% (full CCW) to 100% (full CW).
AO — Auto Off: 5 to 15 minutes or off

This trim-pot controls the length of the Auto Shut Down timer. 0% to 80% adjusts the timer
from 5 to 15 minutes. In this range, each trim-pot mark adds about 1 minute 15 seconds, to the
time. 80% to 90% is fixed at 15 minutes. 90% to 100% turns the timer off, so that only the Stop
input can initiate the Shut Down sequence.
The position of this trim-pot also modifies the operation of the Power LED. When the timer is
on, the Power LED will pulsate slowly. When off, the LED will stay on full. Near the switch point
between the 15 minute time range and the Off range, at 90%, is a Warning Zone. When the trim-pot
is adjusted between 86% to 94%, the Power LED will flash at 4 times the normal timer-on rate. The
controller should not be operated in this range since minor changes in the trim-pot resistance could
cause a major change in the Auto Shut Down timer operation.
CO — Clean Out: 0 to 2 minutes

This trim-pot adjusts the duration of the first stage. 0% (full CCW) causes the motor to stop
immediately. (Unless PF is at 0%, then both the motor and water will stop immediately). Any value
up to 2 minutes can be set. Each trim-pot mark corresponds to about 0.2 minutes, or 12 seconds.
PF — Positive Flush: 0 to 2 minutes

This trim-pot adjusts the duration of the second stage. 0% (full CCW) causes the water flow
to stop immediately after the motor. Any value up to 2 minutes can be set. Each trim-pot mark
corresponds to about 0.2 minutes, or 12 seconds.
