My Dream Vacation

The salty breeze of air; the majestic sunset as it bleeds out its scarlet hue; the sound of
the waves pummeling the shorelines and the powdery sand has always been the things I look
forward in a vacation. This fascination stems from my childhood.
I can still vividly remember the days when my family sets out for a beach escapade.
Our beach trips are always the most exciting and unforgettable memory I have. Since then,
beaches have captured my interest. Then as I grew older, I came across a picture of an island
in the Pacific. I saw a picture of Hawaii. And it was that moment that sparked my desire to
visit the volcanic island. Hawaii embodies the things I look for a perfect beach getaway.
Hawaii's beaches are some of the most diverse in the world. You can find beaches with white
sand, black sand, red sand and even green sand, as well as rocky beaches. In addition, there is
even a glass beach on the island of Kauai, a beach with millions of small pieces of so-called
sea glass.
I can’t wait to bring my special someone to this exceptional island, since they’ve said
that it’s best to visit Hawaii in the month of February because the flight is cheaper since it’s
the typical high season. And February is her birth month, I can make her the happiest on her
natal day. We can stay in a five-star hotel with full service and spa. We could visit the
Volcanos National Park, we can go snorkeling with shark or with sea turtles at Tunnels, and
sail the Na Pali Coast.
Hawaii will always be my dream vacation and I am hoping that one day I will set my
foot on this island with my special someone.
My Dream Career
As a kid, it was my desire to become a businessman. However, things went differently
as I finished high school. I took a vocational course as a car mechanic. For the past years, I
have landed different jobs. Nevertheless, the experiences I had never waned my yearning of
reaching my dream career.
Looking back to my childhood, when not in school, I am out helping farmers
harvesting fruits from our backyard. I can still vividly recall the farm of my lolo- my
grandfather. It was far from extravagant but it was my most happy time. I learned a lot from
him. He taught me so many things that even today, it’s still engraved in my heart. He let me
experienced selling our produce in a small makeshift store in front of our house, so I will
know how to earn money at an early age. I can still hear him saying, “Vast business
opportunities await in selling fruits, but more than making profit, it should be your joy to
create opportunities for farmers and other people.”
Today, during my rest day I always make sure that I helped my father in our farm
planting cacao, durian, lanzones and other crops. I also help my mom in making tablea- a
roasted, ground and molded nibs of fermented pure (100%) cacao beans without added
ingredients and additives. It’s her small business. Through this, it gives me a first-hand
experience of my dream career. It also gives me an idea of what are the things that need to be
improved in farming. Helping people grow will always be my ultimate goal as I reach my
dream career.
