Subject: suggestions that can be incorporated in coming semesters of B.A. LLB
course.
With due respect
I (Amulya Kaushik) and Spriha Pachauri, students of B.A. LLB course, second
year, section 3C, Batch 2019 would like to kindly bring your attention to a few
suggestions that we as students would like to incorporate in our Law school for
our academic and professional growth. We believe that these suggestions would
be beneficial to all our batch mates and would also make upcoming semesters
more educationally enriching.
Suggestions:
1) Workshops and Webinars on the skill of researching

Sir we understand that being from the field of law one of the most important
skill is the skill of researching which is not only limited to law schools but are
extensively required in the other areas such as internships, litigation, corporate
jobs. We feel that at present moment we have not been given the amount of
guidance that is required to write a fine research paper or explore the field of
researching. Considering the same we would request that in upcoming
semesters we should be given various workshops and webinars on the same.
Which are not only theoretical but also guide us as to how to utilize that
knowledge gathered and implement it in our practical life.
2) Legal subscriptions
Presently we students have only been provided with the access to SCC
ONLINE as much as we appreciate this facility provided by college, we firmly
believe that only SCC ONLINE as a source of information is not sufficient and
at the same time would like to request that the college should provide the
subscriptions of other platforms such as Manu Patra, Lexis Nexis, West Law.
We understand all these sources have paid subscriptions so it would be
financially easing for both parents and students if college could provide us with
same.
3) Information about upcoming internship opportunities
We understand that internships are not only an integral part of our CV but also
helps in teaching us various practical skills that we would need in our future
professions. Considering the same we would like to request that there should be
a proper body (preferably student regulated) which should be constructed that
disseminate information about year specific internships and courses to all the
students so that they do not miss out on any opportunity.
4) Guidance on future prospects
We are well aware that the knowledge that we are gaining right now will help
us a lot in clearing various national level exams such as Judiciary exams , UPSC
etc. and we are proud that many of our alumni have in fact cleared these exams
and are well settled in their respective fields taking inspiration from the same
we would like to suggest that there should be a time to time interactive session
arranged with these seniors so that they can enlighten us as to how to start
preparing for these exams at such a nascent stage and guide us to success.
5) Senior buddy programme and student redressal committee
Senior interaction is something that we have come to realize is not up to the
mark and we know how valuable it can be so considering the same we have
come up with the idea of a “Senior buddy programme’’ under this two seniors
would be assigned to each section of the semester that they have just passed.
Fresh with the knowledge of the previous semester they will not only be able to
guide students regarding relevant study materials but will also help in clearing
different doubts of students in case the faculty is not available or are
preoccupied with some other urgent tasks. In order to inculcate an active
participation we believe that this exercise should be graded and should contain
some amount of marks in our PSDA.
We feel presently there is a lack of adequate representation of students when it
comes to redressal of their grievances and is generally represented by either
faculty or admin staff directly to the university but taking in to notice the same
we would like to request some regularization and have a concrete student
regulated VSLLS Student Redressal Committee.
In the light of the above stated suggestions, we hope the institute will undertake
reasonable steps in this regard.
Looking forward to a positive response to our suggestions.
