Publication is important for our career. It is considered as a metric in classifying schools. We
have to realize the importance of research since it is an integral part of our academic professions. The
research starts with an idea and it written in the research report. We have to have in our mind which
journal should we publish our research. Unsuccessful attempt of publication depends on the journal.
Journal choice is very important. Research is a process and it can be done. In publishing your research, 3-
5 reviewers will review depending on the journal. In the pre-submission, you have to think for the most
suitable from the outset. What consists of a good journal is you have to look at the impact factor of the
journal, it depends on the average number of times published papers are cited up to two years after
publication and the immediacy index, which depends on the average number of times published papers
are cited during year of publication.

You have to use the right reference of listing, also make sure you conformed to the conventions
of academic writing. You must be a great story teller because it is what make readers stay glued to your
article. Good writing entails clarity and you must use simple words, you are not required to use hifalutin
words. Tell a story in very coherent way. Practice intellectual honesty and honesty in evaluating your
work. Who will benefit on the journal? You have to consider the Novelty, Priority, Impact of your
journal. Then you consider that you belong to the Q1 journal. You cannot submit 2 journals at a time.
One journal at a time only. Inappropriate study design may lead to rejection of article.

The important considerations in publishing articles are; seek permission for copyrighted
material, proofread your article, keep your journal short and highlight the salient features in the letter to
the EIC and include supplemental data to add value to the content.

For post submission, there are 6 acceptance criteria, first is the relevance to journal scope,
second results significant to the field, next the discussion and conclusions must be supported by data,
then work placed in proper context, fifth is a well-written and logically organized article and lastly
equations, figures contribute to presentation of data.

You can’t take rejections personally, just throw it in the waste bin and write another one. It is for
your own improvement. Every time you give up, you lose the chance of publication success, so do not
give up. We think about what society wants, be open and transparent in the roles and changes in the
society and adapt to the changes openly.
