In fact, our bodies reflect pain in specific locations according to emotional pain we’ve
suffered through.
As I explain in my book Eat Right For Your Mind-Body Type, our minds and bodies are
interconnected and reflect one another. Our physical ailments can be attributed to
mental causes.
This Emotional-Pain Body diagram depicts the various places we commonly feel pain in
our bodies and their emotional roots.
How it works:
• Look for tightness or aching in a specific part of your body.
• Think back on when these symptoms first began.
Can you remember their onset?
What was going on in your life at the time?
• Has exercise, physical therapy or any other type of physical treatment made this pain
feel better?
Does the pain come back?
• Do any emotions (anger, fear, frustration, exhaustion, stress, depression) make the
pain worse?
• Ask yourself: what can this pain teach me?
