For each class, I have taught I made an agenda to help me stay organized and on track. Each
week, I would be teaching the class I have my agenda open and I would follow what is on the
agenda that needs to be covered during class. Each class I made sure to check-in see how the
students are doing, take attendance using group chat since some students would be attending in
the same place, announcements e.g. birthdays, COVID updates, traveling, roommate issues,
concerns, etc…
Then we start with the class material which consists of mental and physical health as
well. I have changed the syllabus and class agenda several times throughout the semester, for the
reason that I did not want to pressure my students and add more things on their plate for a
one-credit class. I learned that I love my teaching methods and flexibility, but I needed to be less
friendly and more strict to let my students take the class seriously. I believe that I made an
impact on my students throughout the semester, I saw them growing, getting engaged more every
class, and speaking up about their concerns. The first few weeks of the semester, I did not like
teaching at all because of the lack of engagement, later on, my students started to get used to me
and their classmates which made them more engaged even when they have their camera off.
