Q1. Why do you think Hazrat Khadija (RA) kept the event of the Revelation in the cave of Hira a secret?
Ans: Hazrat Khadijah RA kept this momentous event a secret because Allah had not permitted his
Messenger PBUH to openly propagate Islam at that time. They were awaiting for a next sign by
Allah. Also, she knew that if the Jews got to know the identity of the Prophet PBUH, they would
surely try to harm or hurt him. Thirdly, the Quraish were idol worshippers so even if the Prophet
PBUH would invite them to Islam, they would instantly reject it and become his enemies.
Furthermore, the Prophet PBUH and Bibi Khadijah decided to consult a reliable scholar so he
and Hazrat Khadijah went to see her cousin, Waraqah bin Naufal,who was a learned Christian
scholar. He also told them that the Makkans and Jews would drive him PBUH out of Makkah. He
also confirmed the prophethood of Muhammad PBUH.
Q2. In your opinion, why did Hazrat Sawdah (RA) immediately distributed the bag of Dirhams sent by
Hazrat Umer bin Khattab (RA)?
Ans:
I think that Hazrat Sawdah immediately distributed the bag of dirhams sent to her by
Hazrat Umer because she was a very pious and charitable person, so instead of
keeping the money for herself, she distributed all of it among the poor and needy.
She believed that money could not bring the pleasures that Allah's happiness could
buy. She knew that the poor and needy were in desperate need of money, so she
distributed it between them to decrease their sufferings which shows her piety and
generosity. She would also follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad PBUH; she
knew that if Prophet PBUH was there, he would also have done the same (distribute
the money in charity for the propagation of Islam). This was also the reason that she
was considered as one of the most beloved wives of the Prophet PBUH, alongside
Hazrat Khadijah RA and Hazrat Ayesha RA.
