I personally believe the southern states seceded from

the union because of multiple reasons. First, I think
southern states were watching at the abolition of slavery
coming and prefered to separate from the union so they
could keep using slaves in land. Also, seceding southern
states from the union would make less fights between
different ideologies in the north and the south. This
would probably have been done to avoid future war.
Finally, I think states were being affected by some
political issues that didn’t involve their actions and that
resulted in the separation from the union.
