“Paa” is indeed a rare ‘Father-Son’, ‘Son-Father’relation story

The center of the universe for the movie maker is not AUM – its BUM..
Ha ha, yes, its BUM.. He is so obsessed with the organ, that he calls one of his characters
(vidya’s mother) “BUM”. Without any significance, or may be to try to make audience laugh
a little in this serious story, every now and then either the BUM is shown through fingers or
spoken about! AURO calls her grandmother BUM, why? B’coz she has a big BUM..

Story starts with a couple (abhishek and vidya) humping anywhere and everywhere.. on a
sofa set in a drawing room, in an open field, in the toilet of a train..they are so much into it
that they don’t mind it even without contraceptives. This is when a child is conceived and
pain has begun..

Bum acts like a BUM to encourage her daughter (still a student) with whatever she does
and help her raise a very rare child called AURO..
Abhishek inherits a political life from his father (Paresh Rawal). He wants to change the
overall Indian perception for country’s Political scenario and politicians.. So, rather than
accepting responsibility of his pregnant girlfriend, this irresponsible guy (who goes around
humping without condom) accepts a far more challenging task, hercules task of making
Politics a viable career option for young Indians. To pursue his political ambitions, he asks
Vidya to abort the child and not bother him and leave him for India’s development..which
she happily agrees..

Udi Udi ittefaq (se phir gir gayi! In this song and a scene where she absolutely rejects any
sympathies for her 60 years looking child from an unknown lady in the garden, AURO the
special child has grown to 12 years.. The best thing movie does is avoid showing all the
pain and hardships of a single mother raising a special child..(lesser pain is better)..

So far, if I am unable to discourage you to watch this film, the story goes on and takes round
and round and round..literally!

Hero taking on with Indian Media for his fight to get better homes for slum dwellers and
reminding us Spiderman’s lines “with great power, comes great responsibility”..is anyways
not connected to the main plot which is like a boring documentary and has no explainable
justification to be in the subject attempted..

BUM and her daughter completely ignore AUROs a fatal stroke while playing, and a
subsequent warning from doctor that he s aged as much as 80 years and he must stop going
to school.. To top it up, they send him with Abhishek (responsible MP and an irresponsible
humper) to all the way to Delhi for 2 days .. washing their hands off his responsibility till
AURO calls from Abhisheks phone and reconnects..
Meanwhile, there are illogical coincidences of Abhishek (successful MP) who claims he
doesn’t have time to eat and shit, .. finding his overgrown child, developing friendly
relations thru email and online video chatting, he takes him all the way to Delhi in a flight to
see Presidents house, sharing his room and bed and going out in a public train without his
defense.. making AURO a potential potty minister and many more stupid not hilarious
scenes .. of course, not knowing so far he is his son..

Auro's relationship with his school mate girl is very sweet. The lasts two scenes of 'round-
and-round' and 'pichli se pichli se pichli mistake', acted by Auro bring tears into the eyes of
the viewers. It touches all Maa-Paa's from the very depth of their hearts. I also had a tear at
the end of the film. A 100% must watch film by the entire family. A great film after a very
long time.
