1. Are there any famous stories of friendship in Indonesian culture?

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Musical dramas are always fun to be watched by

teenagers. Unique stories accompanied by musical arrangements are the main attraction
and that is what is present in the film Doremi and You, directed by BW Purbanegara.

Doremi and You is a musical drama film that tells the story of the friendship between
middle and high school students in Yogyakarta. The various values of friendship which
are adorned with a number of choreographic movements also make this film even more
attractive.

Purbanegara said one of the things that underlie the presence of this film is because the
number of teen films made in Indonesia is still minimal. "Therefore, this film by the
nation's children is here to be an alternative spectacle," said Purbanegara in a screening
and press conference for the film Doremi and You in Jakarta, Friday (14/6).

The film, which began airing in theaters on June 20, tells the story of the friendship of
Naura (Putri), Fatih Unru (Imung), Nashwa Zahira (Anisa) and Toran Waibro (Markus).
Throughout the story, the four friends who were involved in the extracurricular activities
of the choir (padus) were tested for their solidarity with various problems that arose one
after another.

The first problem arose when the fees for buying the jacket disappeared. This also means
they have to rack their brains in order to replace the missing money. Until then, they
agreed to compete their vocal potential in the "Doremi and You" competition which
offered a cash prize of Rp. 10 million.

A number of subsequent conflicts emerged. Starting from the song debate, the selection
of a coach, and Anisa who was forced to resign from the team.

However, all the "storms" made them even stronger together. Their diverse religious and
ethnic backgrounds do not make it difficult for them to unite.

Even though it comes with light conversation, song lyrics, and choreo, a number of twists
that are present make Doremi & You look like they are not being prepared carelessly.
The storyline is presented neatly so that the entire message can be conveyed well
throughout the film.

A number of sad scenes also provoke emotion. Overall, the film, written by Jujur
Prananto and Purbanegara, has succeeded in bringing the audience's emotions into
various situations. Moreover, even silly scenes typical of schoolgirls can be presented
quite wisely and succeed in inviting laughter.

Purbanegara said, this spectacle also comes with various messages for Indonesia's young
generation. This film presents the beauty of togetherness in diversity.
