Description
Medium range water reducing concrete admixture and retardant designed to meet the demands of
the ready mix concrete industry. Its properties permit the concrete mix to retain slump for extended
periods of time without the need of adding water. Admix DX will permit plasticizing the mix for
pumping concrete. It can be used up to its maximum dose without retarding the concrete excessively.

Applications
Admix DX is used wherever slump retention is key especially beneficial in hot weather when control of
setting time is critical or for long haul deliveries.

Advantages and Benefits

• Retains slump in hot weather above 38°C.
• Reduces the water content in a concrete mix by up to 10%
• Provides concrete with better finish due to its increased workability.
• Increases compressive strength when compared to a mix without admixture (control)
• Increases the density of hardened concrete, less permeable and increases flexural strength,
especially when reducing water.

Mix Instructions
Add Admix DX after adding 70% of the water specified in the mix design without exceding the
maximum dose.

Technical Data
Appearance: dense brown liquid.
Density: 1.20 (aprox)
Conforms to: ASTM C-494, Type D.

Dosage
Admix DX is recommended from 4 to 12 ounces per 100 pounds of cement (2.61 a 7.83 mL/kg cement).
The dose can be adjusted depending on the degree of retardation desired.

Storage
In original, closed container in a cool, dry place up to 12 months.

Precautions and Recommendations

• Cannot be used with other retarding admixtures.
• Consult with Lazarus & Lazarus when used in combination with other concrete admixtures.
• Do not exceed 12 ounces per 100 lbs of cement.
