Math Jingle Contest Guidelines

JINGLE MAKING CONTEST: MATH EDITION

- The contest is open to all bona fide students of Tagbilaran City Science High School.
- There must be THREE contestants per year level.
- The composition may be in Tagalog, English, Cebuano or any combination thereof.
- The content of the jingle must be lively, appealing, and creative.
- The participants will be given a mathematical formula which they will create a melody
and tune for the jingle.
- The melody of the jingle can either be an original composition or an adaptation of an
existing song.
- The verses of the jingle must be relevant to the given formula (e.g. applications in real
life). Meanwhile, the chorus part of the jingle must highlight the given mathematical
formula.
- Any musical instrument can be used as accompaniment during the performance.
- Participants must not use costumes and props.
- The duration of the jingle must be a minimum of 1 minute and a half and a maximum
of 2 minutes. Excess in time will correspond to deduction. (3 points for every 5
seconds).
- The final video entry must be submitted on or before March 26, 2021 through a
google drive which will be provided during the week of submissions.
- The top 3 contestants with the highest scores will be recognized.

Originality/Creativity (lyrics) 40%


Lyric Content (relevance to the topic, language and 30%
phrasing)
Musicality (vocals, catchy melody, lively music, 20%
rhythm)
Appeal/Impact 10%
TOTAL 100%
