INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS introduces to the robotic system which emphasize


Synopsis :
on industrial robot components such as actuators, robot sensors, robot end
effectors and control system. Topics also discuss on industrial robot
application including the advantages and disadvantages of using robots. The
course complete with an explanation of the robot classification, robot
programming operations, ANSI robotics safety standard and maintenance
process.

Topic 1 : INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS


This topic explains the definition of industrial robotics. It is also discuss on advantages and
disadvantages of using robot in manufacturing industries.

Topic 2 : ROBOT CLASSIFICATION AND COMPONENT SYSTEMS


This topic explains and identifies the classification, robot configurations and describes the
major components of robots.

Topic 3 : ROBOT ACTUATORS


This topic describes the general types of robot actuators and the comparison of actuating
system.

Topic 4: ROBOT END EFFECTORS


This topic describes the common types of end effectors used in robot system.

Topic 5 : ROBOT SENSORS


This topic describes the sensors used in basic robotic architectures.

Topic 6 : ROBOT PROGRAMMING OPERATIONS AND INTERFACING


This topic describes the programming language, identifies factors that influence robot
operating characteristics and lists the functional of PLC components.

Topic 7 : ROBOT APPLICATIONS


This topic describes some of the most common robot applications in manufacturing and typical
material handling applications including costs associated in robot application.

Topic 8.0 : ROBOTIC SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE


This topic develops an understanding of the safety requirement and maintenance for industrial
robot.
