For the MALE learner, you are going to put yourself on a woman’s shoes by doing chores
usually done by females; and for the FEMALE learners, you are going to put yourself on a man’s
shoes by doing the chores usually done by males. Write an essay about your experience. What do
you usually do to mitigate gender gaps?

Men and women are created by God to be different yet equal. We are all have
different abilities but we need equal respect for each other. What everyone knows is that
men are stronger than women. Yes, they are stronger than us but it doesn't mean we can't
do the chores they usually do. Based on my experience, despite of being a woman I can
also do their chores. Not all and as fast as they do but at least I was able to do it. I admit
that I struggled but this is not the reason not to receive equal treatment. We are also
human beings who need to be respect and treat equally. As a woman, I want to suppress
the continuing of gender gap in today's world. So I always bare in my mind that I can do
everything even men chores. I always encourage myself to study hard so that I can able to
mitigate the gender gaps we experienced. Because I believe that through education I can
have opportunity to escape the injustice that surrounds us. Through my skills and
knowledge I could help to advocate against gender gaps. I can have confidence and
employable skills. Employment will lead me to financial independence. Entrepreneurship will
make me stronger and daring to take up new challenges. If I have enough knowledge and
experience I can participate in government, business, and civil society. In addition, with
more education I can have better access to health information and other beneficial services.
Through this I can show that I can able to change the way they treat women. As Malala
Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize winner says, “One child, one teacher, one book, and one
pen can change the world.” And nowhere is it truer as in the case of women. All women can
become leaders with the right mindset, making the right decisions at the right time. When
women are put at the helm of affairs, conflict has an unnatural way of decreasing. As
mothers, they care. They care about the future generations. They care about this earth. If a
male leader takes you where you want to be, a female leader takes you where you ought to
be. If empowered, the hand that rocks the cradle can surely rule the world; complementing,
contributing, creating a better tomorrow for everyone. That’s why we speak about
empowering women – for a better tomorrow, for a better humanity.
