Product Information Sheet

EPOFINE® - 179-1 / FINEHARD® – 906-1

(EPOXY RESIN SYSTEM FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPOSITES)

PRODUCT

EPOFINE® – 179-1 is a composite grade Cycloaliphatic liquid epoxy resin, FINEHARD® –

906-1 is a modified high-performance anhydride hardener.

APPLICATION

EPOFINE® – 179-1 / FINEHARD® – 906-1 is suitable for manufacture of composites for

electrical applications. This system is characterized by its high electrical resistivity combined
with very low co-efficient of thermal expansion. FRP composite rods and equipment cast or
impregnated with the above resin and hardener are suitable for high voltage applications.

RECOMMENDED PROCESSES

Filament winding
Infusion
Pultrusion
Pressure moulding

SPECIAL FEATURES

The following advantages make it ideal for industrial use.

• Simple mixing ratio (Resin: Hardener: Accelerator = 100: 150 (by weight)
• Tolerant mixing ratio (± 2 %).
• Low viscosity resin/ hardener mix ensures proper flow in to the mould.
• Excellent wetting of glass as well as carbon fibres and nano materials.
• Excellent water resistance.
• High glass transition temperature of 230 – 240oC.
• Excellent dynamic mechanical strength.
• Excellent electrical properties
• Very Good chemical resistance.
