I. Rationale

Like any business enterprise, a goat/sheep raising project should be carefully planned to
ensure success. Important factors such as topography, water supply, transportation, peace
and order, types of soil, and the distance from the neighborhood and the market should be
taken into consideration.
This learning activity focuses on the selection of site for goat/sheep project. It also directs
the learners to the different factors that should be considered during site selection.

II. Objectives
At the end of the activity, the students should be able to:

1. Identify factors to consider in selecting site for goat/sheep project;


2. Select ideal site for the project; and
3. Appreciate the value of site selection.

III. Methodology

1. Scout a potential area within the vicinity of your location or in your own community
where Sheep or Goat Production could be possibly established.

2. Visit your LGU Agriculture Office and survey their Livestock project site and evaluate
it using the site feasibility table.
