We use the adverbs of frequency when we want to talk about how often we do

things. They are very common in sentences with the present simple, when we
speak about routines or habits. They are used before the main verb in a
sentence but they come after the verb “to be”.

Put the adverbs of frequency in the right place in the sentences.


1.-My friends and I go to the library when we revise for exams. (usually)
My friends and i usually go to the library when we revise for exams
2.- My parents left us alone at home when we were small children. (never)
My parents never left us alone at home when we were small children
3.- Did they send you postcards when they were on holiday in Paris? (often)

The following sentences have mistakes. Correct them.

1.- They are always telling me lies. They are very dishonest people.
2.- Does your husband often go out with their friends after work?
3.- Richard is never tired. He is always willing to do things.
4.- I never write never letters to my friends. I always send e-mails.
5.- I rarely see Paul on weekdays. He is usually very busy at the office.
6.- Pam doesn’t generally go to the theatre as it’s a bit expensive for her.
7.- Do they always go to school on foot? No, they sometimes take the bus.
8.- Mum gets never angry. She is a very friendly woman.

Order the words to form sentences. Use the verbs in the present
simple tense.
