How to reload the Philips LPC2214 Microcontroller internal

program (boot)
This procedure explains how to reload the boot program of the microcontroller on the mother
board in case of power failure for instance during the instrument firmware update.

Turn off Minicap,


Open the left panel,
Discharge your body by touching the metal chassis of the instrument to prevent any damage to the
microcontroller due to electrostatic charges,
Place a jumper on J11 on the mother board as shown on the picture hereafter,

Turn on Minicap,
Launch the Philips Flash Utility program,
Select the right setting as shown hereafter

Note that the Minicap Flash Internal boot program is located into:
C:\Program files\Phoresis\Capillarys\Firmware_3 (default installation path)

Click on Upload to Flash,


After 3 to 4’, the system will indicate File Upload successfully Completed

Turn off Minicap and remove the jumper in J11,


Close the Philips utility program and Reboot the PC (if not re-booted, the COM port will remain stuck
on the Philips utility program),
Wait few minutes to let the deuterium lamp cool down and turn on Minicap,
Launch Phoresis/Minicap in Offline mode with the service password,
Select Minicap\Instrument Firmware… and click on Firmware Update (not Update Boot) as shown
hereafter:

Confirm with OK,
Restart the system Online to upload the firmware (15’ approximately on the version 7.40).
