The diagram depicts the process of the utilisation of rainwater.

Overall, theer are two main ways of reusing rainwater: using it directly and consuming
treated water.
As regards the first method, rain falls into rainwater tank adjacent to the house, rainwater
retained in the leaves of nearby trees drips into this tank. Then water is used without
potentiall harmful substances being removed. The other method, using water treatment
plant, starts with rainwater from the dam flowing to the plant through a pipe system.
Here, water is purified so that after treated water is delivered to hosueholds, it becomes
potable.
Concerning the recycling of hosuehold wastewater, it goes through the purification
procedure in a wastewater treatment plant and then stored in a large tank before being
ready for domestic use. If the amount of treated wastewater is excessive, it will be pushed
to the river via drains. That method, however, is also employed for the treatment of
stormwater.
