Assessment Task

From the lesson of Pre-natal Development, I realized that.....

Prenatal Development refers to the process in which a baby develops a

single cell after conception into an embryo and later a fetus. It
transform conception to birth or equivalent to nine calendar months
( 38 weeks or 266 days ). Proceed according to a genetic blueprint that
directs the construction of an extremely complex being from what
starts out as only a single.

Assessment Task

From the lesson on physical Development of Infants and Toddlers, I

realized that.....

The "infants" is typically applied to Young children under one year of

age. The first month of life is referred to as the neonatal period. Babies
must recover from the birth process and adjust to the functioning of
their bodies organ system.

And the " Toddler" is a child approximately 12 to 36 months old, though

definitions vary. The toddler year are a time of a great cognitive,
emotional and social development. The word is derived from "to
toddle" which means to walk unsteadily, like a child of this age.
TODDLERS
Improving motor skills make your child more mobile by age two. The toddler years are a time
when your child will likely be in constant motion. Toddlers will quickly master walking and move
on to running, jumping and climbing. Around age two, most toddlers will be able to navigate
stairs, kick or throw a ball and draw simple lines. During this time, children may still stumble
frequently and be accident prone. By age five, better control of fine motor skills allows children
to dress and undress themselves (a necessity for toilet training) and write some letters. During
the toddler years, your child will continue change dramatically in the following five main areas
of development: physical, cognitive, emotional and social, language, and sensory and motor
skills.

Every child develops and grows at his or her own pace, but it is important to know when to call
your doctor about developmental concerns or delays. Your child’s growth and physical
development are an important aspect of overall health and you should never hesitate to reach
out to your pediatrician if you have questions or concerns about his or her development.
INFANTS
An infant's physical development begins at the head, then moves to other parts of the body. ...
Can lift and turn their head when lying on their back. Hands are fisted, the arms are flexed.
Neck is unable to support the head when the infant is pulled to a sitting position.

In general, length in normal-term infants increases about 30% by age 5 months and more than
50% by age 12 months. Infants typically grow about 10 inches (25 centimeters) during the first
year, and height at 5 years is about double the birth length. In boys, half the adult height is
attained by about age 2.
