Crime Information System

Man is a social animal, he interacts with each other and everyone has different Psychology. Crime is
identified as a deviant behaviour. It is deviant in that it goes against accepted or written rules and laws that
guide a society. All deviant behaviour isn't a crime. Whether a behaviour is a crime is determined from one
society to the next. Due to numbers of problems coming up in the society crime rate has also increased by
leaps and bounds. No one in this world is born a criminal but due to some circumstance they have to take the
path of crime. India has been facing internal and international threats from few decades with great
challenges. Due to this, society is no more a safe place to live in to make people more secure we can
implement the use of GIS and remote sensing to make crime fighting more fast.

Whenever such analysis is to be done, sampling proves to be the most beneficial technique. The
method that is being used is quantitative method. The use of quantitative methods such as survey research,
field research, and evaluation research as well as others, help to gather reliable and valid data helpful in the
field of criminology. There are generally four approaches to measure crime in order to get quantitative data:
observing, victimization reports, surveys of offenders, and using data that has already been obtained. Surveys
can possibly have several advantages, like: obtaining information that has not been reported to authorities;
finding out about crimes reported to police, but not recorded officially; and can provide data on victims and
offenders and the incident themselves  In analysis process, it helps to have access to the raw data and the
published data. This comparison can be more telling than simply the published data because there can be no
bias in the comparison. Another valuable tool in research is the ability to compare newly collected data
(secondary data) with previously collected data (primary data). There two ways in which it can help: first,
primary data can confirm newly found data, and second, differences in the data can point out problematic
areas.

The database would be created which would contain all the information about the criminal and his
crime records . Maps of Administrative boundaries , judicial maps, crime records, maps of the area which are
under respective police station would be linked with the database. All this information will be help the police
to take fast decision and help in reducing the crime rate.

Using the database information about any criminal will be obtained in just one click . This will save
time and action could be taken faster. Decision making will help of the information would be more faster and
organized . Police could take the help of traffic department and reach faster to the crime spot. Routes to go on
during certain time in a day can be given by this system . preparation of the preliminary black list will be
easier and system will also give its suggestion accorsing to the past record and history of the criminals.
Patrolling of a particular area could be improved based on the count of crimes in that area . this system will
help n making quick and effective action plans which would help in reducing the crime rates in society and
make it a safer to live.
